Crazy to read that in 2023, 0:12 - 0:52 just sounds like buddy ran his es335 through a metal zone and everybody seems to gripe about that one nowadays It came out brand new in 1991 so thats not unplausible So maybe it didn't disappear, it was abandoned
This spring starts their farewell tour. If you haven’t seen them live yet, you really really should. They’re incredible and energetic and so tight. I’ve seen them twice so far and I’ll be seeing them in Brooklyn next year. Out of all of the shows I have been to, these guys have consistently outshone every other band. A Refused show is electric from start to finish just like their sound.
How is it ahead of its time? This was being done by Suicidal (among others) in the 80’s... and it hasnt aged well... not sure how they can ever be considered ”ahead of their time”
@@LJTEAM0723 you would have a point if the original comment made any sense at all. Calling something timeless and then placing it 'ahead of it's time' is at best a non sequitur or to git in more easily on RU-vid, retarded and an indictment of the post modern, neo liberal educational system. Pretentious much? You bet I am! 😚
If you ask me the intro riff is literally 20 yrs ahead of time, does chugs with harmonics r really being used in metal and core atm (gojira, spiritbox, knocked loose, Kublai Khan just to name a few)
Amazing how many people thinks this sounds like Suicidal Tendencies, ignoring the years of hardcore/hip hop integration that lead more directly to this. Hint: He is wearing an Earth Crisis shirt in the vid.
I really like it. I would not say Suicidal though. More like Biohazard. This song anyway. And not saying they are ripping it off just saying it is like them. The guitar tone is a bit like Sabbath to be honest. Eventually things all have similarities.
!!!! Why!!!! Just as the intro started a notification popped up so all audio left and a little bing was replaced! Why would this happen!also the intro is amazing is it not?
How and why is this so underrated? Present me with anything from the 20thousends to trhill me and I will deny this being a pivot for musical development
Just an awesome picture. How those concerts looks back in the days and how they looks now. Nobody's even watching them. F.... n zombies with they're smartphones.
This was underground at the time. There was a whole scene across America of kids like this. I should know, I was one of them. I got fucked with in middle school for dressing like this and listening to this stuff but then was the coolest kid in school my senior year because this "style" was suddenly fashionable.
My theme to to Methane or Argon cooling my AMD Bulldozer FX-8150. Still has 3(x2) core clusters going hard since 2013. Thankfilly the dead ones aren't 0+1. 4+5 are gone unless underclock for niche reason and 2+3 ate showing last legs.
Genocide on genocide - destroyed knowledge crushed pride Lost culture to civilization - reduced abused beyond dignity Contemplation exploitation - ring the bell of information Blocked the truth convincing, controlling - held us down unthinking, unknowing Oppressed so many for so long - we've ignored the facts, and moved along We gotta pump the brakes Wasting resources, face some facts and detect the causes - cause our progression equals Destruction, people getting killed by government corruption Cause making most of the land, that's the plan, you gotta understand That 50 years down the line, there won't be no time, the time is now. Drained so much for so long - we've ignored the costs and moved along Time to pump the brakes Gotta pump the brakes, pump pump the brakes...
@@empale1 Wow, thank you dear sir for your honest work! It just made my day! I'll show you an interesting hungarian tune in return: Elefánt: Ég veled. 0
I read somewhere that they were Suicidal fans and wanted to sound the same...they never pretented they created this sound...!! But they created....REFUSED!...and now Samurai which is great too.
@@paulwood4056 We win...clearly. Nothings changed in terms of anything since 1995. America Pop Culture/Musuc/Style was at its most original/Coolness fr 1991-95.
If you're suffering from the delusion that Jen ex created something, it sure as sh#t ain't worth the sweat off a millennial's ars. America, in her heyday in all her glory, was conceived by, built up, ran, and passed on by Boomer. What the 90's schemed up is the break-neck reversal of a shooting star that was screaming upward. This... what you're experiencing now, is the proverbial "way back down". This is brought to you by Jen ex, streamlined and excelerated by the millennial. The current litter of children are plunging in the knife and snapping it off at the hilt. The only people keeping this world turning are any variety of person that learned well from the Boomer and any generation prior to that. But I hate pushing on your hallucinatory parade. By all means... carry on.
Sergio Llinares id say bullshit... its an easy clone of Suicidal at the time from a group of northern swedish kids.. who led by a god complex knob somehow became influential and legendary in punk circles.. i have no idea how...
@@LJTEAM0723 no sludge, and I don't think the suicidal tendencies comparison makes any sense. He's wearing an earth crisis hoodie in the vid. Sounds way more like that than Sucidal Tendencies.
