If I had to choose only one Reger organ piece as "my favorite," - an extremely difficult choice to make! - it would be this one. I played this in recital on the 3-manual 1981 Schlicker organ at the church where I was organist, in the early 1990s. And have loved it ever since. Thank you, Herr Schneider, for presenting this wonderful example of "Reger at his finest." 👍❤️
Played this in my concert debut when I was 16. Moves me to tears to this day. I haven't played it in 35 years! I've been playing plenty of Schmidt and Schroeder in the meantime. It's time to spend some more time with Uncle Max lol
@@Jamus69 Emulate this Maxnificent performance by *Bernard Schneider* . For the passacaglia introduction I used the quietist low 32’ pedal stops available. In the Introduction I added some trills.
