I just turned 55 yrs old on 11-29-2022 anybody in my age group know just how important the 80s was in our lives and how we long to get back there.. life was much more simple for us before social media LONG LIVE THE 80s
Tuesday, October 12th, 2021. Her voice sounds like Madonna"s in her early years. I actually thought the first time I heard this song it was Madonna"s voice. Gosh, how I love and miss the 80"s and 90's. Thank God we have different ways of remembering those decades.
You're not the only one who thought that was Madonna singing this hit song. When I was 10-11 yrs of age when I first heard this song I actually thought it was Madonna!
She was actually friends with Madonna. This song was written and produced by Stephen Bray who did alot of Madonna's stuff aswell. Its not a coincidence.
If I remember correctly, it was written by Regina for Madonna but Madonna turned it down so Regina just did it herself. I definitely thought it was Madonna too.
Love this song, I danced around my girlfriend's house while this was blaring over her system.. back then a large Box.. LOL I miss those times. Also does anyone know that Regina helped Madona with her vocals?

I remember telling my dad that I liked the new Madonna song when this song came out. He had to break it to me that it wasn't actually Madonna singing it. Haha.
_I thought the exact same thing. Shocked this 80s vibe song doesn't have more views! Could you imagine if her and Madonna would have penned a few songs together. (Her voice sounds very similar to Donna DeLory, Madonna's former back-up singer as well)._
Sabe aquela música que vc não ouve a mais de 30 anos vc escuta um trecho e lembra da letra e da melodia foi essa vi tocando no alto falante de uma farmácia aqui em bangu rs
I know the 80's was the best! I just can't believe just 11 years before the 80's the sound was so somber and psychedelic dreary with the 60's mellowness. Yuck!!
This song was written by Stephen Bray who wrote a number of Madonna's songs. Hence the sound-a-like. I think it might have been meant for Madonna actually.
It charted higher on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Radio stations do replay the old American Top 40 countdown shows with the late Casey Kasem. I forgot where this peaked at or exact date. I don't have my reference book handy.
I moved to Dallas in 1986 and was on 635 E passing the mirror building and this song was on 97.1 KEGL. Bought the album on cassette the next day. Melodically perfect. Hope all is well.
Incase you guys needed it: Boy, there's no one home tonight The timing could be right To forget the rules, we're out of school Until tomorrow Now, if only you would stay There's so many games we'd play Why should we pretend to be just friends When we could be so much more? Baby love, you are my Baby love, just call it (2x) Words don't mean so much to me I'd rather wait and see See what happens when the lights go down With your arms around me Time to leave the world behind Save it for another time Cause I don't remember where I am when You start to love me Baby love, you are my Baby love, just call it (2x) Ooh, baby, baby, love Ooh, sweet and tasty baby, baby, love Boy, I want you by my side There's no reason we should hide How we feel when we are near each other undercover Warm, I'll hold you close to me You're perfection first degree Cause I don't remember where I am When you start to move me Baby love, you are my Baby love, just call it (6x)
Not really her fault for the lack of success after this song. Certainly not due to a lack of talent because Regina is an incredible singer and songwriter.
I always thought Madonna had sung this back in the day. This song just popped into my head today out of the blue after all these years. Still sounds so good. Crazy how fast the time has gone by, though.
God I love this song! I remember when everyone thought this was Madonna back when it first came out lol. Why is it that once you start listening to these fire 80's hits, you end up binging on all 80's music (no matter the genre 'cause they were all bangers) for hours on RU-vid? Nothing and I mean straight up nothing will ever dominate the music, culture and fads of the 80's! So blessed to have lived and experienced the enlightening 80's. This 55 year old will always be an 80's child!
Memorable song, remembering my high school days in Manila, a cute young boy invited me to the dance floor in one of those birthday parties I attended, he is the cutest mestizo looking guy wearing a hat. So kilig to the bones😘
@@lizzygarrett7355 I stayed in Manila once, some years ago now. Everyone seemed to have jeepneys, all decorated in their own styles, and all the Filipinos I met loved karaoke.
Note that Regina actually co-wrote this song with Steven Bray, and it was initially offered to Madonna who declined. What's interesting is that Madonna actually helps in the background harmony vocals in this song!
That surveillance equipment! LOL. And then when she shows up, the REASON for the equipment being planted, the detectives leave! No real remote function, just there to monitor an empty apartment? Also, love seeing her on a Apple II monitor. That would be quite a feat to display that video on that. At the end, Regina finds the planted equipment that is obvious as night and day, and love Regina's reaction to it. Just leaves me wondering, what was that's creep's (her boyfriend in the video? The manager as a musician) deal was with Regina anyway to hire those detectives? A wonderfully goofy video, and many at the time were just mind boggling like that. Used to spend Friday nights watching crazy videos like this just lost in these imaginative worlds that we glimsed for only a few minutes at a time. Certainly would love to know the thoughts and inspiration behind this world and more what was going on. (but part of the charm is imagining that for yourself). ;)
En 1985 aqui en México en la cdmx aún recuerdo cuando en cosmo estéreo 103 fm sono por primera vez Regina la sensación fue grandioso ser joven en los 80s gracias Regina ofrecer ❤🎉😎
WoW! Takes me back to my 20s, loved dancing to this song at the clubs, or blaring it in the warehouse when we were working the graveyard shift, me and the girls on my shift would just bust out and start dancing 😂🙂 80s was the best decade ✨🤍✨💛 of my life
That's the nicest thing about working nights. No big bosses or brass around. Plus it's easier to get up at 1:00 in the afternoon instead of 5-5:30 in the morning.
REGINA HAD A GREAT VOICE I LOVED THIS SONG THEN AND NOW AS A 65 OLD GUY AFTER A GOOD WORK OUT HAVE A FEW DRINKS AND DANCE LIKE IT'S THE 80'S AGAIN.WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE YOUNG.
@@veloreb Most people thought this was Madonna. Madonna turned this song down. I can see why though. Madonna wouldn't sing a song about getting out of school
Save your money! I guess it depends on where you live but I use to dj in clubs (gay/straight) and god knows I tried but it would never take off?? Maybe cause I live in Toledo Ohio IDK? Everybody loves the 80's they just don't wanna hang out at the bar I guess?
11/17/2023 this song is such a nostalgic and sentimental song to me. I was 8 and I fight back happy tears every time I hear this. I’d give anything to go back to this time in my life 😊
This is awesome without a doubt. Always knew the song but never knew about the amazingly beautiful artist 'Regina.' An artist who I discovered during the pandemic who made her mark in the 80's is Priscilla Chan from Hong Kong. I highly recommend her songs. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AM5YRIItcAc.html; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m98H9PrIHz8.html

Muy bien pudo hacerle competencia a Madona, tremendo talento y preciosa voz la de la recordada Regina alla por los años 1986. Excelente música que se bailaba en las discos!!
