The best joke of this entire movie that I JUST understood after 17 years (thanks tiktok) is that while Regina spread rumors that Janice was gay, Janice tells Kevin at the end of the movie that she is Lebanese. The whole premise of the movie is based on the fact that Regina didn't understand the difference between Lebanese and lesbian
"Interesting social commentary of a child dancing provocatively to what she's watching on TV and the parents don't seem to care." *TikTok has left the chat.*
Just learned that Rachel McAdams wore a $10k wig because she refused to bleach her hair blonde. So I’m sure that was a hat tip to the “I heard Regina’s hair was insured for $10k” line
She did not refuse as far as remember Rachel told herself that she just had short hair that were bot matching Regina’s character. It’s important to check all of the info after all
@@TawnyRoyal so rude, and for what? they're just saying just make sure you fact check yourself. imagine being wrong and still being an asshole about it
Every high school has a “girl with a hotdog story”. That’s actually the joke in mean girls. It was supposed to be a riff on the sex with a hotdog story but they wanted to keep the pg13 rating so they changed it to “made out with” instead
You all know that's impossible right? Not the sticking it up there part but it getting stuck. The vagina only goes so far. There's no hole on the inside where things can enter the rest of the body through. Whatever goes in there can easy be reached and pulled out.
It's mad how we have the same thing in the UK but it was always with vegetables in the schools I went to. I wonder if all countries have a regional spin on their The Girl With The Hot Dog story
Fun fact: the amber d'alessio burn book comment was supposed to be the same as the girl's you knew, but they changed it to "made out" so the movie could be PG-13.
@@Bulahoopxx The comment says "Amber D'Alessio made out with a hotdog". It was originally supposed to be something along the lines of "Amber D'Alessio f*cked a hotdog" or something.
I've always been on the bigger side, so when I heard that the dress sizes skip around in the smaller sizes... that was something I had literally just learned lol That's so stupid.
For past two years, ever since phones got banned at my school (and tbh even before then), my lunch table and many classes played uno practically every day It’s fun because sometimes the room would be pretty quiet then you’d hear someone yell in frustration because they got 2 +fours stacked on them when they had an uno
I remember people getting in a fight at lunch because the person who had the cards wanted this person to throw away there food for them or they wouldn’t let them play but they wouldn’t so they literally fought😂
@@muscular-lr6er it kinda still is tho? Like not as strict or as noticeable but its obvious that the sporty people sit together, the smart people who are in clubs sit together and the more outgoing/"popular" people sit together, people like being around like-minded people lol
@Celia Yota Wow I just saw this response now after coming back to this video. Thanks so much, I hope you're okay. I'm so sorry you're going through a rough time as well. I'm not great tbh but I've recently started medication and I hope I'll gradually start to function better as a human being lol I've never heard of that artist but I'll check her out :)
Tbh- Cady’s outfit to the halloween party could have easily been fixed... She literally could have just went to the bathroom , wiped off all the makeup, taken the wig and the fake teeth off, then if she wanted she could’ve taken scissors and cut the dress shorter.💀
As someone who transferred schools between freshmen and sophomore year in HS, I related so heavily to that first day for Katie. I didn't know anyone, I sat up on the benches during lunch since I didn't know anybody, and felt like everyone was staring or judging me. And after school, I balled my eyes out because I felt like I had made a mistake transferring (I was also dealing with undiagnosed depression and anxiety, which didn't help matters). Within the week, I had made a couple friends to sit with at lunch and while I was still dealing with issues, just having a couple people to sit with helped immensely. Bottom line: Being a teenager sucks.
When I was a freshman in high school I too had trouble making friends and I remembered the days when I ate Pop Tarts in the bathroom until I made my first high school friends in gym class. Ah, the good days...
You probably go to a school full of white people. So ofcourse the attractive black girls hang together. Or really any black people tbh. Its not like that where im from. Maybe it's because I've never been "unpopular" so I don't understand. But I really don't get where your coming from. I'm black in a black neighborhood going to a black school. Don't know what your talking about.
Fun fact: Janice's rumor that she was a lesbian came from the fact that she was lebanese and Regina, being a child, didn't know what that meant and thought she was a lesbian.
I'm new to Dylan's channel. I was impressed. I wasn't sure if he was guessing or if he has a background in mathematics. Either way, def piqued my interest!
One, I love how timeless this movie is. Two, it turns TWENTY next year which already makes me feel older than I already do. And Jeff Moser must’ve quit acting after this bc he still only has three acting credits. It’s not a bad thing like maybe he found something else he wanted to do but it’s funny if the other situation happened.
Felicia Royers I think that’s because he’s focusing on critique with his background in film. I remember this other film react person did one to an Oscar winning, beloved Arthouse film and she just trashed it because she was so focused on being funny she didn’t analyse why it’s so good... I usually don’t watch good movie reactions because of that!
@@Alex-nf5qh yeah I think this is just one of those mean rumors that people make about others constantly. We had the exact same "girl" in my high school and i lived in northern Canada.
When you really think about it though, Cady wouldn't have turned "plastic" if Janis hadn't pushed/convinced her to become one of the Plastics. Out of her revenge plot at the beginning of the story, Cady would've just hung out with Janis and Damian as if the Plastics were none of her concern.
@The Dark Overlord yeah but it was like cause and effect. Wouldnt have a effect if there was never a cause. That was just collateral damage of Janis' plan.
Yeah she is the worst character she got what she wanted and never reflect at the end even she kept making fun of hia friends after using them all she wanted was to get her revenge on regina
I've always considered Janis as the villain. She's just manipulating the newcomer so that she could get revenge, and in such nasty ways too. And then she plays the victim card. And in the whole movie, she's just basically looking down on everyone else as if she's superior and just a better person than the whole school together? This revenge plot was way too much. They did so many despicable things to Regina just because those two had a simple falling out.
"This girl right here would be the Lindsay Lohan character. This would be Regina George. This little rambunctious kid would be, the stupid girl." *And none for Gretchen Weiners* 😂😹
For my high school, we had prom on the same day as the state academic team meet. Yes, prom was at night, but the meet was a total of about 8 hours, so depending on when you competed, you might only have 2 hours before prom started and the meet was 2 hours away. I knew quite a few girls who had to do their hair and makeup in a moving vehicle and change into their prom dresses in a gas station bathroom.
That's the same face customers make when I, as a cashier, tell them they don't really like s'mores. You know why? Because nobody ever buys them in the winter time. You all just think you're under obligation to eat them in the summertime or something.
@@Whimsy3692 no not exactly. i like s’mores but the only way we can eat them is when it’s warm outside and have fires going. i would use a lighter or gas stove lol but i don’t want chemicals in my marshmallows. so that’s why i just wait until summer. and they’re something i wouldn’t eat all the time anyways.
19:00 I don't understand to this day why they would think Cady had anything to do with the burn book even though she JUST moved there that year. How would she know any of it?
maybe they thought that she wanted to know what's happened to students there before she came. so maybe she made a book that's written all of the secrets she has to know about that school's students also she was friends with gretchen so that's make sense
Katrina Rosival because out of all the girls in the school (i think junior girls) Cady, Karen, and Gretchen were the only ones not in the book. And they know this, because the principal(?) looked through the whole book while talking to the girls.
This movie actually had me wheezing the entire time I was watching it. This was around 7 years ago when I was 16 with my friends. I need to watch it again.
He did watch it before. That's why it's not a reaction it's a commentary. He mentioned this in the beginning of the video and references that he's remembered parts of it.
Mean Girls is just Heathers but without the hot characters, good plot, psychotic hot boyfriend, murder, suicide, and a good movie. Heathers is actually WAYY better
@@Giddyupfromseattle i havent watched heathers but from your comment it sounds like a over dramatic kdrama. Being dramatic doesnt necessarily mean "good"
@@Batkhuyag1300 Heathers is actually a good movie, but I don’t really get why people compare it to mean girls when the plots are entirely different. Just because they’re both high school themed movies doesn’t mean that they need to be compared.
“Nobody plays UNO” *Me and 20 of my classmates in a big circle playing with two decks, whenever we get the chances do days when we were stuck at school due to rains * 👁👄👁 Oh gods THE NOSTALGIA And it was only 2 years ago🥲
Most of my classmates are doing online school (that's about 30 people) so only 8 of us are at school, and whenever we have classes like design or language classes we play Uno.
I like to point out that this is the movie that inspires every single teen movie, all the mean girls in those movies are the cheap bad copy of Regina George. Teen movies try to compete and be this movie but simply fail. Also Rachel McAdams was 26 when she played Regina soooooo...
This should just be called “movies for people with ADHD. It’s so easy to follow cause you skip all the little details and just talk about the big stuff. Plus you’re really funny so it feels like watching movies with a friend. I love these so much
I have to say, figuring out where to sit is terrifying, especially at the beginning of a semester/trimester. trying to figure out if your friends have the same lunch period and if they don't...
@@shoshanahenson3433 her whole thing wasnt that she was lesbian.. did you even watch the movie? it was a rumor Regina spread about her.. Fun fact; Regina probaly got confused because shes Lebaneese..
I finally just watched this movie tonight because I knew people like to quote it, and wanting to see your video was the last push I needed. I'll be using your list of commentaries as my watch list. Now that I've watched all of your videos on things I've already seen.
"No one plays Uno, not even the nerds." Me: thinking about all the times I played uno at lunch with my friends and the fact that I'm an Asian nerd. Also I've been to a math competition on a Saturday night. In conclusion, I'm a loser.
