Very interesting and one of the best videos you made was about the victorinox Swiss army knife tinker/hiker that was a fantastic video and i would really appreciate it if you can do a video on doing the rest of the tools of a Swiss army knife because there's many many people out there trying to figure out how to get them back to citing so it would be helpful for people out there going camping 🏕️ thanks for sharing this one with us Joe very interesting thanks buddy 👍🏻

Great video Joe. For my oilstones, I've been using the following mixture: 1 part mineral oil, 4 parts water, enough Dawn to keep everything mixed (about 1/2 part). Works great and the stones stay really nice and clean.

Bless you Joe for doing this. I think you're the only one on YOUTube to tackle this topic by hand, not belt. I've been trying for ages to CREATE thinner FLAT zero grinds by hand on some Whittling knives and their only 1.5 to 2 " long blades !!!! And cant get them to be FLAT. There always CONVEX. Sharpening isn't the problem it's just Hand grinding em FLAT!!! PS this is a re profiling thing. Knives that are just too thick or distorted in shape on the primary bevel to go into the basswood smoothly and easily. I don't have any power grinder nor do I want one. ATB.

thanks for the kind words and i am glad that you liked it. grinders are very cool and handy, but as you said, not everyone has a grinder or the need for one.

I've never seen anyone judging how much they're removing by timing. I always just look at both sides when I do my grinding. Pretty interesting.

ive never timed that either, just thought it might help someone get an idea of the material removed with that stone and hardness of knife.
