Hi there! I would love to see an update video! My monstera has spontaneously started to variegate. It’s my newest leaf that it is most prominent. Mine has green on green variegation, I can also see a stripe in the stem. Hoping for the best that I can maintain it. I’ll send pictures if you’d like!
I hope it gives you the variegation you hope for. Make sure it’s getting plenty of in direct light. Not direct light, variegation is stimulated by light.
Sorry, no medicine. It is in the DNA. Sometimes it is dormant and when we bring plants home, give them the right light and nutrients they thrive in a better way. This allows the DNA to thrive. Variegated plants do best in bright in direct light. Thanks for watching..
Doesn't look to be variegation. Looks to actually be more of a sickness with the plant. Some illnesses can cause the leaves to have variegation. If you notice those variegated leaves look to be a funky shape, thats usually a good sign to tell it isn't true variegation. That plant appears to be sick to me.
Sport variegation maybe? A lot of people have been finding them among regular Monstera... maybe you got lucky and didn't even know it! It's known to become stronger as the plant matures. Great find! This link is an example of another RU-vidr who found one...Monstera Deliciosa @8:50: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wpgiCujkvJk.html
@@GreenManGrow7 Wikipedia: "Variegation is caused by mutations that affect chlorophyll production or by viruses, such as mosaic viruses, which have been studied by scientists. " Anecdotal: I recently learned that variegation is the the result of plants co-evolving with a virus, and that variegation can also be induced by a change in it's environment such as excess lighting, or different things it can be exposed to in its substrate. I looked this up recently when I had a regular pothos have a few leaves that variegated. It was directly under a plant light. Thanks for the video!
