Emotional regulation offers us the ability to respond to our emotions in a positive or delayed manner. When triggered by everyday events, emotional regulation allows us to be flexible enough to delay a spontaneous reaction, even when we experience trauma. This allows us time to collect our thoughts and be more discerning with our behavior.
In this newsletter, Karen will dive into the biological significance of the Vagus Nerve and how it plays a significant role in regulating our response to stress and trauma. In addition, she offers seven techniques for regulating our stress response which is especially on overdrive in the early days of recovery.
Remember, no feeling lasts forever. You will get through this.

“The Recovery Library gave me 24/7 support because I could be up at 3am and search for the topic I was struggling with. It also helped as a couple because we could investigate topics together so it wasn’t subjective. I trusted this information because it was from professionals who also had lived through and recovered from infidelity. Double credibility in my book.”
