This was a hard watch! A few times I almost gave up as it got so hard but glad I persevered. It gives a perfect insight into a drug addicts world of a downward spiral and one of the hardest of life's climb back to normalcy if you have the guts to make it! And the other side of the coin if you fail...
thanks for this. 22 years clean but I still need things like this lest I forget. I am so grateful for my life today & thanks to all who have been part of my journey.
That sort of hyper emotional horror show might work for some people. all the shouting, swearing, tears and embracing - not my cup o tea. A human is either ethical or they're not. They are capable of thievery and or violence or they're not. Having a drug habit doesn't change that.
I feel that is a very black and white view of life. When I was 5, I met my best friend in kindergarten. She had a brother and nephew that were both 2 years older than us. We lived in a very average area, lots of families with young children (I'm talking 50 years ago). Her parents were bright, normal people, both a good job but with 4 grandparents in the vicinity to take care of the kids if necessary. We always went on sea-side holidays together. Very ordinary life. I watched those two boys I had known when they were just kids, climbing trees, playing football, turn into heroin addicts. Turn into teens that stole from their family, from strangers, woke my parents up in the middle of the night begging for money, rehab in and out, not coming home for weeks, parents worried 24/7... Those young guys were not ethical?
There are many addictions and when you need something to feel normal but want to stop, it takes many years to recover. It’s an important film for those who want to heal.
