Well this was quite the journey, and not one without its challenges. But it is exciting to finally have a 8" wheel lapidary setup and ready to cut some opals or other fun stones. Started this out in October and just now finishing part of the water and drain setup now in January. There was a lot of cleaning done and I tried to get this beauty up and running while not losing the original charm of this arbors simple design. We cover drain pans and drainage, perhaps overlooked by many I think that it's the most important part of these setups. Then we finally get to break new Diamond Pacific wheels in on some stones my kids wanted me to cut.

One thing I'm not certain I mentioned in the video was the paint on the arbor itself- mine (80's 70's?) still has shiny paint however it peeled off with just compressed air - just thought I'd make mention of that. Exciting that you've also got one of these beauties!

I just picked up one yesterday. Threads on one side are flat in one spot is the only thing I see wrong with it so far. Original motor still runs strong. Guy was using it to sharpen knives so not much wear on it. Where do you get spare parts from? This is my first arbor set up for lapidary.
