It's really scouting work what you do for people in the field. Here through this kind of videos, we can make our choice of what we need without disturbing those who are taken by their work. Although I am far from these places I appreciate what you are doing.
you are the best!!! Thank you so much for all you do for the lapidary trade. No way have you damaged it! Found you by watching your videos at the various shows and they are so great ion learning what is available, and identifying various rocks, excuse me... gems. lol Now tho my favoriite videos you do are the diy videos on getting into the hobby with lower cost diy machines. Thank you again.
Thank you for the insider perspective on used lapidary equipment at the Denver Miner's Co-Op. I have purchased almost all of my equipment from private sellers at very reasonable prices. I love that you said lapidary is experiencing a renascence in the US. I feel that too, just never heard it put into words!
Thank you so much for watching Unfortunately this booth was a bit overpriced so it was a bit disappointing to some ppl who wanted me to source some gear for them this year but Tucson should be good :)
interesting video. Are drills not common i don't recall seeing many in any of your gem show videos you have on your channel. Looking forward to seeing more of the gem show videos as i won't be making it out to any for a while.
Hi dave.i bought a new 8 inch cab king last year with my stimulus money courtesy of our government. Any how water not coming out enough so I took apart and blew some air through it.works perfect again.i wonder if I should soak the brass valves in vinegar also.have you had to take yours apart and clean the valves.mine has not been used all that much yet.
They can definitely help what I have noticed in the past of the waters been getting stuck in my plastic I expand in the holes ever so slightly but I think I might just replace it let me know how it goes with the vinegar my friend I would love to hear your thoughts and experience
Sherman Roland one of the owners of the New Highland Park company who is also one of the creators of the best machines currently in the industry says even though they make great auto feed machines some of the best lapidaries that they know disengage the auto feed and use weights they literally drill holes into the brand new machines to set up weights because it’s faster if you know your material
Hey is there anyway to get in contact with the guy who is selling the faceting machine. I am kind of looking for one right now. Would really appreciate your help.
$600 for a pneumatic angle grinder. WTF. The Highland Park belt sander for $1700, new costs less and is greatly improved. Double WTF. Lots of junk at crazy prices.
I can't find anything I can afford ,used or otherwise unless it's that vevor brand stuff that everyone says is not worth getting even to just learn on.
My friend don’t give up looks at Facebook marketplace and search all of Craigslist EVERYDAY no kidding even if it’s across the country you will run into a machine you love for cheap sometimes 200-300$ I know from experience I don’t look at machines anymore like I used to but he still like him up every day and will find him dirt cheap even if it’s across the country you can bribe the people to ship it for an extra hundred or $200 so if you’re paying 400 and 500 bucks sometimes it’s still worth it I bought a diamond Pacific Genie 180 bucks two years ago trust me the deals are out there I learned how to shop for these things because of my crippling addiction to buying guitars I shop for them the same way on Facebook marketplace and craigslist I look every day sometimes I buy a guitar or bass for a 10th of what it’s worth Tracy my friend you gotta look every day because the good deals fly off the shelf in hours
@@lapidarydave I won't give up. I am far too stubborn . I want to learn to facet Rubyvale sapphires very much...because I can get them readily at very good prices for nice material. I know I should send out the parcel I am setting on for cutting and see what I get back . Because it may only take one or two of them sold to cover one. Risk of mail theft has me worried .
Yeah no doubt ! I have around 35 CTs so far. 12.1 is my largest , 2.6 is the smallest. My picture here is actually one of them . (3.8 CT Royal Blue and teal) I found a cutter for a good price too. But one thing suggested is keeping me sort of anxious . I have been advised to say it's a $200 value to get through customs the fastest and easiest ..but If I do that and something happens ,how do I get my actual value back ? I don't. So I haven't mailed them out. It's not the cutter I am worried about. It's Thailand customs .
@@lapidarydave that is what I was thinking. Maybe borrow the money since it can be income generating. You see crates of rough rocks going for a couple bucks and the polished stones going for several times that. If you were to pair up with a jeweler or artist, the income potential is even higher. Plus the people you meet on the road seem pretty nice.
