Crying from laughing at “Rubies should be ashamed of themselves”... I saw this mask in a store and lost it when I remembered your comment. Rubies misses the mark by a mile on some of their masks... you did a hell of a job. Looks a lot better. TOTS masks are definitely superior on many levels as you know, even though some purists will rework them. Great channel man.

So... I may get flak for this. Say what you want, I agree this mask is just... Terrible!! But, let me point out when you first held the mask against the mannequin head, and explained how you wanted to secure it properly before getting started, I could actually see some solid hints of the h2 mold. Especially in the nose and eyes, you actually got a glimpse of the Dick Warlock stretch the mask had in the film! Dont believe me go to 5:11
My friend's daughter knows I love Michael Myers.. We were at Walmart yesterday, and she held this thing up to me and said "Maddy look!!!" My face crumpled into pure disgust and honestly some physical pain. I literally screamed: "LOOK HOW THEY MASSACRED MY BOYYYY!!!!!!!!!!"
Wow yeah that looks way better then it did. I actually have alot of Michael myers mask my self that iv picked up over the years. Thier definitely not from wallmart lol.But the way you did that mask was very helpful in rehauling it. Good job.

You should do one of these vids on the paper magic group mask. (The one that’s all latex including the hair) I’m kinda broke and it’s the only mask I have.
This was a challenge and a half, and I salute you. Quick tip, if your paint isn't sticking, you can probably get it to tack up using naphtha or lacquer thinner. That'll give you better adhesion. Also, I use antique parchment instead of white on my H2 masks. Gives it just the right aged/yellowed quality. Keep these kinds of challenge videos coming. They're entertaining as hell, and showcase some great DIY technique and ingenuity.
Great video! You did wonders with that original Gawd awful mask!!!! Something else to consider - many of the masks won't usually fit your face perfectly. I've found when you put them on your mask makes it look like a fat Myers face ... lol. I've put Velcro strips in back so when you put on the mask and tighten it to the shape of your face it fits well. The hair hides the strips. I just did this to a mask I recently bought. Another plus is the mask doesn't move when you walk so it's also much safer!
In the late 90s rubies actually had a better one out with painted hair that really resembled Halloween 4. First one I ever owned it was 23 bucks found it in a mall I was 19. Couple years later my ex gf at the time ripped it to shreds because I went out. Still wish I could find a replacement to go in my collection but apparently rubies doesn't make that one anymore. Can't find it anywhere online. You got mad skills to make a mask that bad look that good. Least it actually looks like a myers mask now. 2 thumbs up!
I say this is a win. That mask is a piece of crap and I used to laugh when my boss made us price it up at 19.99. It looked like complete crap and you did an awesome job rehauling it.
Knowing that rubies is also the same company who made the foam pancake mask I wasn't surprised but they recently made a good comeback with the Jason hockey mask which is supposed to be the reboot version or 2009 version which doesn't look too bad it's only 15 bucks where I'm at and I do not have one yet I just saw it when I was going to Spirits
The mask is Vinyl not latex! If you want the paint to adhere to a vinyl mask. You have to use the naphtha that you have and mix it with contact cement. Paint the mask with the mixture. Wait for it to dry. Then you can paint over it and it will adhere.

When I was younger I’m pretty sure I actually pissed on that mask. This is not a joke, My mom bought me the costume and all I wanted was the coveralls so I took the mask sat it next to a bush and relieved myself on it, It had mold on it 3 days later. Edit: Rubies made this with a stick up they’re ass (also smoking 12 joints) clearly.
ohhh my god that cheap mask......the curious thing is that the OG Myers mask, as already everybody knows, was a cheap captain Kirk mask but i guess that there's cheap, mega cheap and then that H2 mask. actually you did a great job and the mask went from garbage to kind of decent, great vid!
It would be pretty cool if you could try to rehaul other shitty Myers masks. If you could make this disgrace of a Michael Myers mask look good, then you could make anything else look good
