An episode about the Roland XP50 where I initially thought that the Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) was broken... I was wrong... As for a lot of Roland synths of that time, the smaller 10uF and 47uF SMD electrolytic capacitors started to leak, cause damage and... no sound out of the DAC although the DAC itself is perfectly ok. Anyhows: a video on how I discovered what was going on and how I repaired it.
If you want to recap the board you will need the following capacitors:
- 16x 10uF/16V SMD Mouser Nr. 667-EEE-FC1C100R
- 6x 47uF/16V SMD Mouser Nr. 667-EEE-FC1C470P
- 2x 330uF/35V SMD Mouser Nr. 667-EEE-FC1C331P
- 4x 100uF/35V SMD Mouser Nr. 667-EEE-FC1E101P
You can also use normal radial caps with the above values.
