Yup, you are correct. I never fish it on weekends or holidays, and weekdays are getting bad, too!

you failed to mention the main, if not the only reason people completely over crowd this 100 yard stretch of river is because the hatchery outlet stream dumps in right there!! you should show it for what it really is, combat fishing at its best. fishermen stacked shoulder to shoulder, 60 cars in the hatchery lot 20 cars on the hwy side, nothing but bobbers and jigs/drifting bait is tolerated. no spoons, no spinners, no nothing else is allowed by the patrons. because you'll "mess up their drift!"

That's the state of steelhead fishing Washington. Less and less choices for anglers to go fish. I agree. I started steelheading in 1989 and I do remember the "fast walk" from the parking lot to the river. It was crowded then. I don't fish weekends there. Not worth it.

Don't leave anything in your car.I forgot my knife,I ran down to get it,and when I got back my tackle box was gone. You know how that is,all your favorite expensive lures. My fault,I didn't lock my canopy. I grew up on the sky,and the Puget Sound.47years,I've been gone for 3 years.I'm so homesick,I nearly cried watching this video.

Awesome video, very informative. How deep is it on average there?

I would guess 5-8 feet deep out in middle.

its a shame to see how bad this spot has gotten in the last couple years! still love those days showing up and only seeing two cars at the hatchery and the people being really cool
