THANK YOU...for talking about "the lie", I been waiting on someone else to notice it. You're right that we drama loving comic fans are eating good right now, every episode shares a life lesson and I am here for it...

Shes probably beyond Omega level now or using the magic from her ancestry to access her powers again. That was the point of showing her blasting off into space and breathing in Space. In TAS she was possessed by the Shadow King and flew into space to incapacitate herself to get him out. Magneto would have needed a force field like we saw in episode 2 to go into the atmosphere because air pressure/oxygen/cold. That means shes manipulating all these elements simultaneously , while rocketing lol wild. And again Magneto calls her the closest thing to a Goddess and even bows to her in episode 2. Her manifesting the uniform and growing her hair is witch-like and is probably easter egging her magical origins, hair is also tied to spiritual awakening. Scarlet witch told Storm in the comics that "She is of the Sisterhood" and that Storm uses Magic subconsciously. On a larger scale I think they are in a rush with X-men because they need them ready for the Multi-Verse. With Deadpool and Logan coming this summer, an X-men Movie in the works for 2025 and Secret Wars I believe they want to play a Dr Strange Multiversal of madness incursion/merging. So they wont have to explain where mutants have been because what the X-men experienced has occurred in another reality that has to be blended with the MCU. The Marvels kind of gave it away at the end. They are choosing to take this era of X-men and slide them onto the big screen. And they want Storm in that costume when they do hit the timeline lol. They will probably cast actors that look closer to the cartoon series and move away from the fox actors. I can see them keeping Hugh Jackman as an Old Man Logan and casting a younger Wolverine.

While I'm glad she's gotten her powers back (and Nightcrawler is in the roster now; we won, honestly), this is another pacing issue I have. She's depowered for only two (half) episodes before regaining her abilities. Plus her romance with Forge feels quick, but IDK how fast it happened in the comics.

When I saw her in her original costume I was like, "Yes! Finally!" Honestly her original costume has a deep meaning to her. The crown was given to her by the village in Kenya (I think it was Kenya) and the gem is her mother's ruby. The only memory she has of her late mother.

Also ! Love the history you pointed out about believing the lie ! I had to comment on the spiritual aspect of this episode. When Storm drops the flash light which is artificial light and ends up in Darkness and has to conjure her own lighting to set herself free it reminded me of the Bob Marley song "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery… none but ourselves can free our minds". Storm's Tiara from that era would have lock picks stashed in them for escapes when she would get captured. So as she frees herself from the cave and destroys the demon and rockets into space it is a liberating of herself and us black viewers lol. It also polarizes the Charles using his Telepathy, the Shi-Ar and their hypocrisy and literal enslavement of other galaxies. (Calling earth ghetto but stepping over any and everything in the galaxy for power) When Charles was talking to Lilandra did you peep the slaves working in the garden ( I wanted to say field). It was a deep episode. lol

Seeing that footage of Emmet Till makes me so glad I wasn't alive at that time. RIP to him.

Something I love about this episode is that is not about mutants. You see what I think makes the original X-Men cartoon better than any of its successors (evolution and watx ) was that unlike them only like then They they decided to explore other parts of the marvel universe, Is that instead of focusing so much in just mutant stuff he was open to do other stuff like the deal with aliens or fighting in their dimensional monsters or even dealing with supernatural a.k.a. magic beans I just love it

Storm getting her powers back is awesome. But wasn’t she shot with an inhibitor in episode 2? How does her getting her confidence back, over power the technology of the inhibitor? - like what was that pink blast made out of? Negative emotions? That would make sense. If all it took was for her to realize her confidence, then what was the point in having Hank run tests to see what was wrong with her? This show has pacing issues since episode 1 - but now it’s sliding off on things logically making sense. - Even for a cartoon / comic. I can understand if Storm was under a spell and her gaining her confidence breaks the spell and restores her powers…. THAT makes sense. Her getting shot with a power damper and then realizing she a baddy - doesn’t make sense. Because if confidence is key to getting one’s powers back. Than any mutant shot would just need to remember who they are. Which defeats the purpose of the gun in the first place.

I didn’t like that Lifedeath feels like second fiddle to Motendo by giving it a shorter screen time and then Part II turned out almost the same with the Shi’ar story. I don’t like that Storm’s love affairs are often sudden and rushed with little to no progression and they don’t often lasts. Her relationship with Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Black Panther and Forge in the comics seems short lived. That’s what it feels like with Storm and Forge in ‘97. Had Lifedeath been a whole 32 minute episode by itself maybe we could have seen how Storm and Forge’s love story progressed. I wished that for the first two episodes she still had her long hair and after losing her powers she left the mansion, went motel hopping in Texas, went into depression, cut her hair a lá Ultimate X-Men grieving for the loss of her boyfriend Beast but this time grieving for the loss of her powers, met Forge at a bar wearing a hoodie to cover her messed up hair, then Forge takes her in, Forge helps Storm fix her hair and gave her a mohawk, help her in her misery, help her get out of bed, feed her, bathe her etc. and in her struggle Forge then becomes more drawn to her and her to him. Like I wanted to see her struggle, be depressed, be combative, hopeless so we can feel her pain and her agony and see how Forge dealt with her, fall in love with her in the process and then enters the Adversary feeding on her agony which is the part we saw on Lifedeath Part I. Like there’s so much stuff I wanted to see, like some director’s cut type of sh*t with Lifedeath. I mean I love her storyline and the lesson I got from it but at the same time I’m kinda bummed that her struggle seems so short and then she got her powers back right away.

I was under the impression that when the final episode of the series in 96 aired, they didn’t know for certain that the technology could save him. It was his best hope and they didn’t know how long the treatment would take if it could save his life, so it was kind of like they had no way to communicate with Leandra to check his status

Unpopular opinion: I don't like x-men universe mix with the marvel universe. Aliens,magic, super heroes and humanity decided that mutants are the enemy that don't make sense to me
