When learning to swim, one of the most important thing is to be able to relax your body. If you have either conscious or subconscious fear of water, you need to deal with it, first, before you can move on. In this video, I give an exercise, you can use to relax your body. it's been a week I cannot float everyone else as a beginner are floating and moved to a next step of kicking it was really depressing for me as my legs start sinking when I try to float,coach says that it's because you tense your body.I searched thousands of video and then finally found this,it should help.Thanks from the bottom of the 💓.Lots of love from India

Keep at it and you'll float. If your legs are sinking, it means that you are not contracting your core muscles correctly, in addition to not relaxing other muscle groups. Also, it sounds like you have a fear of water, too and it doesn't allow you to relax. Yes, I still instinctively have fear of water and that is why I'm surfing UTUB to find any way not having aquaphobia.Luckily, I got it today.Thanks Ma'am!

Hi thanks for the video. I also take swimming lessons and initially I am so scared of water and so nervous that I had much difficulty breathing, my coach also observe that I am so nervous in water and can affect your swim, she told me I need to relax before I can swim. I was clueless on how to relax. After watching your videos, I had learn the correct way of breathing which is crucial to swim. Because of that, I am no longer nervous of water and I can swim more confidently and I enjoy swimming even more. At first, I also find breathing quite stressful, it take me 2 months to be completely relaxed. It is just a matter of time. My coach is now very happy with my progress

I’m on swim team and I’m about to move up to the faster lane, but I really need to be less tense when swimming. My coaches have told me that I am tense when I swim so hopefully this works.

It's one of the things that can work. If you are tense, it means that you still have a fear of water, even if it's subconscious. Yes, that's why I mentioned the subconscious fear. Since the body tenses up, it means there's something going on you might not remember or might not be able to pinpoint. If you do the exercises from my playlist, your body will start relaxing little by little. You can see them in practice in my playlist with Akram.

Hey....I started learning swimming before 6 days .I am unable to float without a floater ,i can glide with the help of floater and kick borad but when i start kicking my body doesn't move forward and my coach said that my legs , abdomen and shoulders becomes regid when i start to kick ( even with the support of pool wall )and I might have fear of water but I just love water even I enjoyed scuba diving a lot with a guide. Plz tell me how to overcome this !!! Being water lover and not able to swim really frustrates me.

Hi! You see, I start with teaching my students in a vertical position and go into a streamline position when their bodies are ready strengthwise. Hi, i think she's like me, i learn whit a personal trainer, not in a group, maybe you need someone by your side, a guide,a teacher,a trainer into the water with you, you can do it .

This is my Problem! I'm so tense i attended many swimming classes and tried many exercises to relax ,i consider them all failed still can not float, I'm 52 and still trying.

I am glad that you keep trying. I would suggest to do all of the exercises from my First Steps To Swimming playlist ru-vid.com/group/PLlni5Zb5tjJn7jCl1Senai_MSqN6s7hGp You need to learn to trust the water and your body needs to find balance in it. Do ALL of these exercises at least 3 times a week, 3 sets of 6 to 10 repetitions (after you have gotten a clearance from your doctor). Then, please, let me know about your progress and about other concerns you might still have.

@@easyflowing Yes mam.We make its juice and drink it.Its also available readymade if someone can't get the raw Giloy.i heard that having strong immune system can save us and in general giloy is excellent in increasing immunity.You must have heard about Ramdev baba(yog guru/Patanjali),he conducted experiments and found that another herb known as "Ashwagandha" is extremely useful for Corona virus.i m not sure about thier claims but in general theses Indian herbs are excellent in all terms.If you can't get them in USA you may use anything which has high Vit.C or E.

@@easyflowing we have extreme diversity in India,different economic situations,it's very difficult to Lockdown India as we are 1.3 billion.large number of ppl got trapped far from thier home,when our PM suddenly announced Lockdown.We the ppl of India in addition to govt. Efforts are trying to help poor and helpless ppl to atleast feed them else they will die of hunger. Most importantly we are worried and scared when we hear that USA is struggling of Corona.I pray to god that you and your family remains safe.Amen.🙂

It's alright saying learn to relax but if you can't relax because you don't trust the water to for instance bring you to the surface if you jump in how can you relax.

It is a great point! I would never ask anyone who is afraid of water 1. to jump in, 2. in deep water. These exercises teach the body balancing in water in preparation for swimming. I never start teaching beginners with actual swimming.

Uncontrollable muscle tension during a swimming lesson is a tell-tale sign of a fear of water, even if it is a subconscious fear. I agree with your swimming teacher.

Now my dad says who is a really good swimmer that it's because i exercised a lot and that's why my muscles in the back are tightening up and I guess that true because normally also they are really tight.
