Hello. Thank you for your comment. I am glad that you are working on getting over your fear of water. To float on your back some muscles of your body need to be tight while others relaxed. Do these exercises to strengthen the right muscles and eventually, you will float on your back very well: Adult Swim Lesson. Strength Workout For Balancing In Water. 16 Exercisesru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YSwhuNBpkHA.html (there are videos that explain each exercise separately) and Adult Swim Lesson. Dry Land Exercises For Practicing Streamline Position For Swimming.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h26CjFpVqVs.html (your streamline position is what will keep you afloat along with your lungs full of air). Please practice all of these exercises (of course unless your doctor says otherwise) and please let me know about your progress.

This exercise you can definitely practice with holding your breath. I do suggest starting with part one of this exercise because you can practice floating while breathing and see how your body reacts during inhale and exhale.

@easyflowing
@easyflowing 4 года назад
Low buoyancy can be due to higher muscle mass and lower percentage of fat. However, because you said that only your legs ‘refuse’ to float, it means that the rest of your body stays afloat, and that means that the problem is not with your buoyancy. The problem is with the way you contract your core muscles. Please watch videos in this playlist: How To Float In Water ru-vid.com/group/PLlni5Zb5tjJnVjBowbF8JPdwvSBAURdbv Especially, pay attention to these two videos: How To Float On Your Back [Exercises To Get Your Feet To The Surface] Swimming Lessons For Adults ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QbPbP3FED9Q.html And Floating [Is Filling Your Lungs With Air Important For Floating?] (Test) Swimming Lessons For Adults ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LGdYbeyCfFM.html Please keep me posted on your progress.

You can practice at an angle, leaning a little bit forward or a little bit back. This way, you’ll have more space to practice. The only thing is that if you lean forward, you’ll move forward, and if you lean back, you’ll move back. You can see it in this video: How To Propel With Eggbeater Kick In Different Directions (Swimming Lessons For Adults) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FGJSdiYtlc8.html

Hello Advanced Gamer, thank you for watching my video and for your comment. In order to feel the water, one needs to practice. Some muscles have to be contracted, others relaxed. Core strength is key, and as you said, lungs filled with air. If you master all of the exercises in my playlist First Steps to Swimming ru-vid.com/group/PLlni5Zb5tjJn7jCl1Senai_MSqN6s7hGp , you will learn to feel and to trust the water. Here are all of these exercises together in one video: Adult Swim Lesson. How to float...with a wetsuit...hahaha. Did you know some wetsuits it's impossible to sink? Trust me I've tried. I can understand if the water's cold but having a wetsuit is basically cheating. Also practice doesn't make perfect, that's false information.
@easyflowing
@easyflowing 6 лет назад
Thank you for watching my video and for your valuable comment. Unfortunately, even with a wetsuit on, correct muscle engagement is necessary to be able to float with hands and feet at the surface. That is why for a complete beginner, it works to learn wearing a wetsuit. My client, with whom I just finished filming in open water, couldn’t keep his legs at the surface even with a 5 mm triathlon wetsuit until he learned to engage correct muscle groups. Later on, he was able to repeat the same in a pool with just swim trunks on. I am wearing a wetsuit (3 mm) in this video because here, I am 50 lb overweight and this suit make my body look more presentable for videos. AND, if you have found a way to get REALLY GOOD at something without practicing, PLEASE teach me!!! When you publish a video, please tag me in it, I WANT TO LEARN FROM THE BEST and it sounds like you have cracked the code of learning. All power to you!
@easyflowing

By the way, all the videos about swimming in my channel, 47 in all, were filmed in two days, I was in the water for over 10 hours a day. Yes, I needed to keep my body warm 🙂

Dream To Swim I Wasn't expecting a reply but hey. I never meant not to practice at all. What I meant was perfect practice makes perfect. Practice something wrong, regardless whether you realize it or not will only lead to performing it wrong. (I'm not saying what your doing is wrong by the way.) It's just good advice that was passed onto me which I pass onto others. Take or leave it. I have no idea how cold that pool is so fair enough your wearing a wetsuit but that doesn't take away the fact they help you float. You just gotta be carefull someone learning doesn't get over confident with one and then end up panicking without one. I'm glad your student made good progress. Lastly, I'm not a guru although some people I have taught see me that way. I've taught for 10 years so far and do know quite alot. Yet I'm still learning. I will probably put a few videos up yeh but I don't have access to a pool as easily as you and other youtubers so it's not that easy. Plus I don't have anyone to film me. Maybe I'll do some in the future and your more than welcome to judge.
@easyflowing
@easyflowing 6 лет назад
My man, ALL of the videos on my channel were filmed by me, edited by me and lessons were planned out by me. If you focus on finding a pool, you will find it. Teach people what you know. About a perfect practice, in teaching, it’s important to go from simple to complex. It’s impossible to fix everything all at once. That is why I pick and choose what I teach. In my videos, I or anyone watching could point out that fat floats... so, in the same manner you can say that I am cheating because I have extra 50 lb of fat on me AND you will be correct. But, whatever I teach, works for the people that choose me as their teacher and they can learn bits and pieces from different teachers, also. Different things and techniques work for different people because we are all different. Start writing your lesson plans, all the topics you would like to cover, choose tripods, cameras, etc., imagine the kind of pool you would like to film in and an opportunity will present itself. This way you will be ready for it. That’s the way it is happening for me. When you post your videos, please send me your links. I am rooting for you!!!

I don’t have to judge, people’s comments and views will show how good you are. I can offer only constructive criticism and ONLY if you ask for it.
