Your hair is so stunning. Thank you for taking the time to show us your hair all around. Including the back!!! So many RU-vidrs seem terrified to remove their face from the camera 😂 and so they turn around for no more than a second or 2 to show us the back of their hair! It’s crazy 😮. And that’s after a long video. So sometimes I just skip to the end to see if they show the final result fully including enough of the back, before I give them the time. You always show us the back of your hair. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you! Yes, I figured since I’m talking about hair, I might as well show all of it: the good, the bad and the ugly. There are those who think you can’t have healthy relaxed hair and that’s simply not true. And since I lost my hair and was able to grow it all back (and then some), I want those who watch to feel encouraged that they can do it, too. 💁🏾♀️👍🏾♥️
I've been dusting monthly. Had to cut back down to the white meat because my middle part thinned out from bunning. Bought the Theorie helichrysum shampoo and conditioner, infusium leave in, and Nairobi setting lotion (no wrap n tap available), along with Paul Mitchell skinny serum. My hair looks like a baby version of yours now. ❤
@@DolceDawn Yes my hair is much more healthier since I started using it. It's always on sale at Sally's buy one get one half off at the big bottle sale.
Hey Dolce! I've been watching you for some time and absolutely love your content. I just caught up on your Theorie hair mask review and I have a recommendation. Basically shampoo, hair mask then regular conditioner, etc. I watched another YTuber and she made a great point that a hair mask is not conditioner but a treatment so it doesn't seal your cuticle holding in the moisture. This is why you follow up with your conditioner to seal your cuticle and the treatment. Try it this way. Since I listened to her I've only used hair masks this way and appreciate the extra boost to my hair (only do hair masks every other or every 3rd wash). I don't like heavy hair at all...one of the reasons I love your channel and hair. All the best!
Hey, Teresa! Thank you!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying. And thank you for this tidbit. I figured I would follow the directions and apply the mask like I had once in the past, but what you said makes sense. Dare I say that I may, possibly… PERHAPS be tempted to try it one mo’ again now that you’ve hipped me to game? Probably not anytime soon, though. lol But I DO appreciate your recommendation and receive it in full. Thank you! 🙏🏾
@@cfoster6804 Typically, hair treatments (e.g. protein treatments) are followed up by a rinse out conditioner since the reparative nature of these treatments can leave hair dry, so she’s saying to treat the hair mask the same way. May I ask why you think this would be “too much product layering”?
Your hair looks so good! Are you back to almost waistlength? I'd love to see you do a video on your current trimming routine with longer hair. How are you also keeping your curls intact with longer hair? I'm finding that my hair is not holding a curl now that it's longer.
Hey, Syokau! Thank you! I think I may be right above waist again …. Wow! Time does fly, doesn’t it? With regard to holding curls, do you use any type of spritz or hairspray for hold? I find that a little bit of spray, especially during the summer, helps my hair to hold a curl a lot better and for longer.
Awesome!!🤩 Dolce, _relaxed_ hair goals. Sis, you're exemplary of patience + dedication because your progress has come a LONG WAY since pre-p@ndemic days.
Hi Miss Dolce! Thanks for your hair update, your hair is looking fabulous as always 😍! I just put a relaxer in my hair last night. I usually use motions mild strength, but this time I used the affirm mild strength for the first time and absolutely love the results! I will be sticking to this one! I had my eye on it for a while anyway, and knew i couldn't resist trying it! I was debating on whether I would continue heat training my hair or not, been doing it for the past 7 months, and finally decided on just going on ahead to relax it. No regrets here because i find it more easier to maintain. Everything else to my hair routine still the same, the theorie shampoo and conditioner, keracare leave in and silk elements heat protectant spray. Loving my hair right now😄
Hey, Miss Lauren!! Thank you a bunch! ☺️ And I’ve always said that if they discontinued Precise, I would switch to Affirm. So I’m excited to hear that you’re loving the results after trying it! I’ve heard nothing but good things about it… Great update! That’s whassup! 💁🏾♀️👍🏾
Good morning Sister Dolce, I pray that all is well with you. Sorry that I haven't been around lately I've just been busy with life. Anyhow, your hair is beautiful as usual and as far as mine goes, instead of getting some braids I got some twist put in as a protective style for a while. It's still mid back length and they twisted it up to waist length. I pray that you stay blessed and highly favored
Good afternoon, Sister Djobet! I pray all is well with you, too! I know that you’ve got your own life to tend to. Good to see you pop in. Wow, I’ve never had twists, but they sound like a good go-to for the summer. Love it! Thanks for this update and have a fabulous rest of the week!
Skinny serum is a product that I've constantly bought throughout my relaxed hair journey, so hopefully, you don't get it discontinued, lol. Idk if you know this, but the brand has said it's not a heat protectant. You know your hair better than I do, so do what you may, I just thought I'd add that. Your hair is thriving and growing beautifully. Thanks for the update, and I would love to see an updated relaxer day. 💜
Hey, Kalisha! Thank you! ☺️ OK, another vote for an updated relaxer day, I see. Got it! lol And someone else commented the same thing about the PM serum. Yes, technically they list it for use with blow drying and even though they have a different product specifically dedicated for flat ironing, the serum can definitely be used for that as well. P.S. And I think with all the years it’s been available, it’s safe from me getting it discontinued… 😂☺️♥️
Dolce you're looking very well and happy, your hair is looking pristine as always. I have ordered a satin head wrap as I am growing my nape back and I'm sure it will help. I started to use the Giovanni moisturising shampoo and I like it.
Hey, Ms Ms! Thank you! Yes, the satin cap will definitely help with your nape. Good call! And I use to use Giovanni’s conditioner - loved it! They have a great lineup of hair and skin products, so another excellent choice. Thanks for the update!
Beautiful hair, Dolce, by far the best relaxed hair on youtube. I went back to the black rinse. I feel it gives my hair more depth. My hair has now grown to about neck length. I've no intention of cutting unless something happens where I've got to cut to the white meat. I've purchased a new conditioner - Creme of Nature Honey mask. I'm just testing out a different conditioner to see if i can avoid getting sticky residue whilst blow drying my hair after conditioning.
Hey, Mrs D! Thank you! I hear what you’re saying about the rinse giving your hair more depth. I see that with my hair, too. And let me know how it goes with the new conditioner because you definitely shouldn’t have a residue after using a quality one. Thanks for this update!
Hello Dolce ! 👋🏽 Oh yes !! Your hair is looking mighty good girl, I just love that length. Do I see 👀that tailbone is a coming ??. 📣📣📣 Roll call!! All is well with my "new color" and the storm⚡⚡ streaks are at rest for now. Currently at 4 weeks post relaxer so most likely will touch up color after I relax at 9 or 10 weeks. So far, so good!!
Hey, Sandra! 👋🏾 Ha! Don’t know if I’m getting to tailbone, but I believe I’m hovering around waist-length again… 💁🏾♀️ But I’m glad you’re loving the new hue on your ‘do - YAY! And to think you almost 🐥 out… lol. Thanks for this wonderful update and have a great rest of the week!
Thanks, ms. chelle! Ugh… I just HATE this product shell game I have to play when companies discontinue my faves, but thank goodness I was already prepared for this one. ;0)
Beautiful!! You have the technique and products down to a science! It looks like your headed to waist length again. Its disappointing when products are discontinued or altered.. i guess we must change with the times and sift through new products. I've run into a few mishaps with my last 2 relaxer applications. I went from waist length back to a few finger tips below bra strap. I am now 3 about to be 3 and half months post with 4 inches of new growth. It's been okay finger entangling, conditioning, flat iron and trim schedule has continued. I'll take an inch off once I relax in 10 days or so and should sit back at midback That's my length of choice. 😊
Hey, Kimberly! Gracias, girlfriend! 🤗 Yeah, I think I may be hovering above waist-length at this point, but just like you, mid-back is my preferred length. So I may cut it… 😎 Happy to hear about YOUR progress, though - YAY! And I’ve given up on these discontinued products and have decided to just go with the flow. My fragile emotions just can’t take it anymore. lol
The hair is giving girl! I am enjoying my hair down for the summer I have really been enjoying almost nightly search and destroy and I am finding the ends are loving it! I don't flat iron but is the skinny a good product for shine?
Thank you, girl!! Ha! I used to do the whole “search and destroy” on my ends, too. It’s addicting, isn’t it? And, yes, Skinny (as well as most serums) is definitely good for shine. I use it as a finisher and it’s fab!
Hi Dolce, love your hair and your your healthy hair journey. Started watching you when you cut your hair down to the white meat. I have the same issues on the under carriage of my hair. My stylist had to cut my hair down to the white meat in April. So I got a neck length Bob, I started a hair care regimen from there and have noticed a big difference in my hair health, ends and thickness. I love the healthy cut ends look.
Hey, Kamilah! Thank you! Aren’t freshly cut ends the best?! Ugh, I just love it. Just elevates your hair’s overall look. But, yes, I’m glad your hair is progressing and doing well after getting the bob. Just like you, starting with a clean slate helped me to focus on my hair and improve its state by leaps and bounds. Thanks for the update! ♥️
Relaxer update please. I plan to find your video link on how you retouched . It was so interesting. I think you parted in the middle and started from the front. I am not quite sure.
Yes, ma’am. The updated relaxer day vid seems to be a popular request…lol. And you’re right: I do split my hair down the middle and relax one side then the other, working from front to back. Just always worked for me. 🤷🏾♀️
My hair is growing allot! So glad, finally got my ends professionally trimmed. My ends get frizzy though... So annoying, would the Paul Mitchell skinny serum help with that?
You got your ends trimmed - YAY!! Yes, a good serum can help with frizzy ends. Do you wrap your hair nightly with a satin scarf/bonnet? That can help, too.
@@DolceDawn I am no good at wrapping my hair smh I need to watch your video on it again. Lately I've been putting it in a loose bun in the back of my head and wrapping that with a doo-rag lol
Thank you, Crystal!! For regular weekly wash days, I use Infusium 23 leave-in (original version). But for relaxer day, I use Lacio Lacio. More deets and all of my products can be found above in the description box, if interested.
What trusty Bettys did you use? How many products for this update? From shampoo to final look. I don’t have any trusty Bettys. Did you color this time around. I need to relaxer touch up next week. This will be my first touch up since relaxing late March. I seem to have a full inch of new growth. It’s kicking up a storm.
LOL! Hey, Michelle! I used everything I normally use in my regimen listed above in the description box. And I did color, but there was nothing interesting to report there. And a full inch of growth? Awesome update! Thanks for sharing!
You're just a beautiful individual, your hair is just a beautiful bonus... I love it!!! . Sorry I haven't tuned in, in awhile. I have been doing a lot of writing for Media Made Magazine. T Ursula Green and T Ursula Green Media Made Magazine..,
Love the hair. did you find those crimpers on Amazon yet? Well I am growing my hair out from a fade and it is relaxed as of 5/8 and currently I am trying to stretch my retouch until the end of July. I want to get it a little longer and healthier before doing so/
Thank you so much! I did look up the crimpers, but only found the double barreled ones and not the ones with the wavy plates. So, I’m still on the hunt. And I like your update. Waiting for your hair to get longer and healthier before relaxing sounds like a good plan. Good for you. Thanks for sharing!
I know!! I hate when companies discontinue products, leaving you in a desperate scramble to recalibrate and replace. So annoying! From the regimen vids listed above in the description box, you can start with the “Relaxer Day Prep and Routine” vid then follow-up with “Wash, Rinse Repeat” and the “Chaka Khan” flat iron vid and you’ll pretty much see my whole routine. 👍🏾
Dolce in one of your previous videos. I believe you said that you do not use a neutralizing shampoo, after you relax your hair. Do you just use regular shampoo?
Hey, Claudette! I’m sorry that you’re having issues with dry ends. Do you use heat? Do you think texlaxing your hair (i.e., under processing it) is causing the problem?
@DolceDawn I do occasionally use heat but not super often I wear protective styles but boy the split ends just dont quit. I thought about fully perming bur I think my ends would completely fall off
@@claudettewatkins4237 Got it. I’m just wondering whether the texlaxing is doing more harm than good… Maybe you should go to a professional just to get their feedback on what’s causing the breakage and how to remedy it? Would you be open to that?
