Anger is an emotion that serves us, like all emotions, it tells us to pay attention. Maybe a boundary has been crossed that we need to address or we are not being heard. Anger can be toxic when we hold onto it and it turns into resentment, bitterness, rage and causes us to be trapped in the past.
