Good job Mark! Way to represent those of us that share this passion of ours!! Ha, my first machine was the Jetco Mustang!!! When you were describing how to use your old BFO, the memories came flooding back for me from 1975!!!!

Thank you Larry. I never owned a Jetco Mustang. Had a few older machines I bought along the way like an old Compass. But that little Radio Shack machine was my first. Thank again for the view and comment!

Mark, that was an interview that Ive been waiting for since shortly after finding your channel. I hope that you do more livestreams like that because your knowledge is a gift to the detecting community. The first thing you said that struck a chord was about when you picked up the meteorite and thinking about it being 285 mil years old. That gave me goosebumps also. Speaking of the scientists communities general view of both rock hounds and metal detectionist, I think they look down on the people that make a large majority of the major discoveries. I totally agree that alot of what they get their hands on is cataloged and put in a warehouse. The common Joe's actually have way more knowledge than the majority of the diploma people. Thank you, look forward to more videos like this. 👍👍👍

Thank you for watching the podcast! Yes, too bad those certified academics can't learn to work hand in hand with the veterans of this Hobby. I honestly don't think they realize what they're missing. And yes what a crazy thing to pick up a meteorite that was floating around in space for 4.5 billion years and then all the sudden it's in your hand! Same thing with gold when I find a nice gold nugget it's just crazy and I'm probably the first guy ever to touch it. Thanks again for watching the video and as always for your support!

Great interview Mark well done. I relate, Ron and I were hammering the sac parks and he taught me how to listen for the deep silver too, then I returned the favor and took him gold detecting up in Nevada county, he was a quick study and had it dialed very quickly.

I know exactly what you mean because I learned a lot from him on the Deep Silver and a lot from you on gold. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment!

I totally forgot that that machine had a meteorite program in it. I do know a friend of mine that does very well looking for meteorites and his two machines of choice are the Whites goldmaster 3 (GM3) and the whites GM2. Thank you for watching the video and for your comment!

Those were the days! Incredible luck we had back then. I honestly just don't get out as much as I used to which is sad. I have seen a couple of his videos and would be honored to meet him! Is he local to California gold country?

There was a big beautiful oak tree across the street they were building those new houses they had it all fenced off I watched the dozer cut all the roots going around it. Now there is a house where that beautiful tree used to stand it had to be as old as that building across the street
@BrassMedic
@BrassMedic 8 месяцев назад
Yes!! That's right, I once found a barber dime at the base of the tree about 12 years ago it had a square nail hole right through the center of it. Was sad to see all of that dozed away! 😐 As always.. Thank you for watching and for your comment!!

Wasn't there a monument there....I could have sworn there was one talking about the men that came so loved that land they made it home.something like that
@BrassMedic
@BrassMedic 7 месяцев назад
I do not remember that monument at that tree. I first saw that tree about 15 years ago so if it was before that I would not have seen it but it was always kind of a mess over there across the street especially around the tree and especially in the winter time.
