I literally needed this! I was crawling around the house, the pain was unbearable! Calves are the worst, now that I came across your video I am super grateful! Thank you, I will never forget this!
Did u try it? Does it really work? I need my calf muscles loosened. I hate the feeling of them tightening to the point I, about to pull a muscle. N I’m f***** scared how painful that’ll be.
Thank you so much. I'm on my feet 6-8 hours a workday and get 10-13k steps so my legs are usually sore after a day. I have everything: body roller with smooth surface and with studs to go deeper. Tennis ball and acupressure mattress. Yoga tiles and rubber bands. I just have to get up from couch and make decisions to better myself 😅
I actually use the ball of my left foot under my right calf. Both legs get worked out and you could vary the pressure to the muscle . Thanks & Good video man💯
Just got injured playing baseball. I will try this tomorrow. Thanks. I hope it helps and go back soon to action . Will let you know how it goes . Thanks
Super effective!! Ive been searching for the pain relief exercises and tried a lot since my calves are always in pain after some walks but this is the best. In just 10 minutes all pains are gone!! Thank you so much!!
This happened when I was walking multiple times a day, on my weight loss journey. I’d wake up in the middle of the night and my whole leg, especially my calves, ankle, and toes. Everything would just lock up. Like a huge Charlie horse. I would stretch, use tennis balls, try to relax it. Nothing would work besides trying to walk off the pain, while holding onto anything you can because one of your legs doesn’t work. More, stretching, and more exercise helped them go away. Now that I started skateboarding again at 34, I’ve been having this issue with my left foot. My toes were completely curled in this morning. Probably be wise that is my pushing/stopping foot. Damnit…. That hurt.
Bro you just saved my life. I do boxing training and I have a spar in 2 days and I had to get rid of these tight calves otherwise it would affect my performance, and that tennis ball method just saved it. THANK YOU
I live in Turkey. I have metatarsalgia in my foot, I had surgery twice but it did not help. I am only 27 years old and I feel pain when I walk more than 1 km, even though I use appropriate sneakers and insoles. My doctor told me that my leg muscles were tight. Is this video suitable for me?
I went to doctor spent $852 they couldn't figured out the wanted to more testing and i said no, found this video did this for 3 days and my calves are feeling better thanks
Thank you for the couch part of this idea! I've been rolling my calves with a ball like this, but on the floor, and it ends up being more of a core workout as i try to move my body around and keep the tennis ball in place 😂 couch version with muscle flossing looks much easier !
Thanks for this modification. I can’t get down on my hands and rolls myself back and forth. If this is not doable I will keep looking for modifications.
I found that out today - I was at physiotherapist & I mentioned about cramps in calf muscles. He couldn’t believe how sore they were - he said extremely tight so I was thankful he worked on both legs.
I diligently do calf raises with weights at the gym since a year ago, and it has helped me with my plantar f issue. I have no more pain every morning upon getting up. Amazing!
Just learned this as well. You can also put an ice pack on for a while to relieve the muscle. But never put anything hot on it cause it’ll cause inflammation and make it worse.
will this work for partial tears? I have a partial tear in the lateral head and would like to know if doing this will bring any benefit. Been struggling with this muscle for years,it just keeps healing and tearing again.
thank you, on my right leg my calf is higher up and more flexible but my left leg is more down with restricted movement I want them both to be equally unrestricted
I used the couch edge and just slowly (while putting pressure on it) move it up and down it felt great, yes it's painful i guess but that's what make it good righ?
6 feet tall about 200 lbs and I felt relief just watching lol I wish there was a way we could like idk remove our muscle fibers etc safely duh and stretch them out or wtv to eliminate stress knots and tension
Normally the length of time the pain continues. There may also be other symptoms (bruising/ swelling) with a calf tear/ injury. Tight calves are normally only painful if you palpate them.
This sounds like a great idea. I'll try it! I have very tight calves, quads and hamstrings. I think my tight calves might have been caused by a condition I have - rigid big toe in each foot. But, like the chicken and egg, I'm not sure what came first. And I'm not sure which to try and heal first. Any thoughts? I'm not flexible and I find it hard to manipulate the big toes to get relief from the pain. It also makes it hard for me to exercise sometimes, even just walking. I'll try to use a tennis ball. Hope it helps me. Thanks!
Tricky, as like you said you don't know whether one is causing the other. Try doing a calf stretch against a wall. This is where you place your toes on the wall, with the heel of your foot on the ground, as close to the wall as you can get. Keeping the leg straight at the knee, start to move your hips forwards stretching the calf, but at the same time bending the toes back a bit. Also, although not directly relevant, this video may provide some alternatives ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uIJr1Iy2R04.html at about 1 min 30 secs in to it.
Be careful when doing this. I did this yesterday for about 10 minutes like he said and it has made my calf a lot tighter and the pain about 5 times worse
I can walk a bit but i cannot walk properly do to the calf tightness when i put force on my affected leg i feel stabbing pain of mild cramp and tightness, is it ok to force myself to try walking with this, i cannot even climb stairs 😔😔 i miss walking normally 😢😢..
@@ExerciseForHealth omg within 3days I noticed a difference. I've had muscle tightness/ weakness for a month followed by a medical procedure. I'm glad I tried this🙂
Yeah but... there's to much pain to move around like that, all one can do is force your feet in standing position so the foot doesn't crul backwards lol, by the time it takes one to get in that position you could be standing, especially when the cramps are in the front as well as the back. When I get in my lazy mode and don't drink my full 2 liters of water, or have magnesium, potassium and salt leg cramps happen
Sorry, I'm not sure what this means as this video refers to tight calf muscles (knotted ones). This is not a cure for cramp. See this video for that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mk5WP40NQ9A.html
@@ExerciseForHealth Whatever you want to call it, I just mean that one can be in way too much pain to be having all these ideas, like putting a ball under your calf or any other idea, the pain can be to excruciating to be looking for ideas to rid yourself of the cramp or pain or whatever you want to call it, all I can do is stand up in a straight position and I can't move at all. If I don't stand up in a straight position my foot will go backwards, when standing straight I can't move at all, all my veins front and back are bulging, I cannot imagine myself walking and going to look for a Tennis ball to stick under my calf while my foot wants to contort backwards, that's all, I just made a comment like anyone else... Oh, and Magnesium and potassium helps me not to have leg cramps, sometimes when I don't feel like taking my vitamins or drinking the extra water I will have the leg cramps.
My foot is permanently not straight, as if I'm wearing high heels 👠 And my steps are too short, I feel a stretch in the Gastrocnemius in longer steps 😅
