you are very right about celebrations with kids there is nothing wrong with being happy and having the same fun like other kids. very happy for you. keep up the good job as parents! being buddhist you do not have to give up your cultural and live different from other people around you. i do the same with my family, watching your video and now i can confirmed i am on the right path. thanks.
Having been a practicing Buddhist for over 12 years and finally moving into my own practice separate from the Buddhist community, this is what I found. Don't let the quiet all so reasonable voices fool you. The average British Buddhist is a middle class bully, they constantly brag about their university education, belittle anyone who doesn't fall into their peer group and berate oiky accents. They suffer from middle class angst when the realisation comes that they have no special place in society because of their middle class up bringing. There are many, not all who are just plain nasty people and the more they meditate, the more they confirm this in themselves.
@PhoenixArmor Buddhism has nothing to do with God. Believing and having a relationship with God is separate from a persons practice of Buddhism. Its not even a belief system, there is no obligation to agree or disagree with anything.
@PhoenixArmor That is non-sense. Denial of God doesn't enter into anything. The Gods are subject to the same karma as the rest of compounded creatures. We wish the Gods well in overcoming their desires as well.
