Have no idea what any of this is! Our XJ’s are ‘93 and 2000. But good to see a video from you and still watched the entire vid !! I know your life has become way more ‘adult’ 😀 but am looking forward to some classic cussing XJ videos! ❤️🐞
Damn, wish I would have found this when I was troubleshooting some emissions issue with my '88! I'm still thinking I may pick one of these up anyway, great work!
hi. i was wondering, how easy is it to wire the whole setup. like is it plug and play or is the splicing and soldering involved... i may have missed a video about that. This thing is DOPE!
Yeah, they would be available on my website store but I've just been out of stock since the chip shortage took out the main brain i need to make these work. Hopefully later on this year I'll have more to offer again.
Follow my Facebook page nickintimefilms for the latest updates. I'm trying to make some easier designs to get around the global chip shortages right now, but I won't have any V5s back until I can get what I need again.
Hey Nick, sorry to bother with an OT... What could be sounding like a bad flex plate but isn't. It happens on cold and warm Idles, then goes away, fades revvig up... Its a Low sorta "ting ting" thing ....
Im not sure if you covered this but will ask anyway. Tough for me to make my question clear so here it goes. Example. This leads to my question. When displaying 4 functions on the screen, example, STFT, LTFT, O2 sensor and engine temp, you have to repeatedly push a menu button till you find what you want to display. All good. If you end up passing one of the options you wanted to display you have to go through all the options again till you get to the one you had passed up. Question. Did you add a feature that you can just go back one option to get to the one you passed instead of going all the way around through all the options? Hope that makes sense. Thanks Nick.
That would be a good idea, because I know I do that a lot myself and it's annoying. So, what If I add a feature where if you hold the button down, it will then go back 1 reading? That would allow back and forth menu travel to an extent.
With the cel and codes you can pull from the computer. Could a logic be written to where if a code is thrown on key turn, the cel comes on and auto pulls the code screen for you to see. I.e code thrown> light on if light on display codes else normal home
@@deeganboris7925 haha, the code is starting get a tad unmanageable in areas but I'm slowly getting it rounded up. But a simple start up condition would be simple enough. I may even add an option to ignore certain conditions for folks that just have things unhooked
@@deeganboris7925 I code in Arduino since that's what the REM is based off. It teensy compatible which is Arduino compatible, haha. All the code is open source and hosted on my site.
Yep! It's not anything officially written out yet, but if there is a manufacture default of some kind, I'll cover anything required to fix or exchange it. Any other damaged I'll still attempt to fix for a low price or work out some kind of deal out. It's more about getting useful products to folks then trying to make tons of money at this point.
It depends. Hardware updates are the main concern. All V5s support the same software, and all v4s are a bit behind. The clocks changed the most which holds back that software a bit
