I remade my old video about using console to change what NPCs wear. This one should be a little more clear and better quality. Comment any questions you may have!
Thank you for uploading a new version of this. You dont wanna know the things i was calling you when i found your last video and you didnt show the console and what was being typed. I started to get mad, was about to coment and saw your pinned comment linking this video.
@@CJ00014 hmm... what I said always worked for me but I haven't done this in a long time. Pretty sure there are mods these days that accomplish what I do in the video but in a more user friendly manner. It's been 5 or 6 years since I made the original video lmao.
@@CJ00014 could be that whatever item you're giving them is worse armor rating /enchantment wise than what they already had, and try to requip it as a result.
You can make some changes permanently provided you don't change their shoes. I think there is a way to even change the shoes but I don't remember how I did it. But to make the armor, helm and other things permanent, I click on the NPC, type AddItem followed by the item number and then and a 1 (for quantity). I then use the EquipItem command followed by the item number and then the number 1. That 1 makes the item his default. I then use the ShowInventory to find the item number I just replaced (his old armor) and remove it by typing RemoveItem followed by the old armor number followed by 1. This technique should make your changes permanent provided the NPC is a named NPC that is not dynamically respawned if killed. I don't think it works on guards and may not work on the messenger. You may can change their shoes if you make all new outfit pieces as their default and remove their old gear. I am pretty sure I have even got it to work changing their shoes.
