I had a few mods I didn’t get a chance to include in this video and was considering making a part 2. Should I make this into an ongoing series, or are there any other videos you would like to see me make? Also check out my line of Gaming PCs here: apexpartner.app/redirect/dr-nostalgia
Woud love a part 2? Haven't checked your other videos yet but I will right now, what magic and staff walking animation mods are you using they look sick!
There's always been a disconnect for me between the Dragonborn and the dragons themselves. Awesome that mods are able to bring it closer to what is should have been.
They are big ass lizards with wings that breathe magic, me and most others don’t give a single care in the world about a pair of arms being used to differentiate two species of fantasy creatures. Honestly neither should you because it’s simply not worth the effort of being the “ummm actually” guy for creatures that have no relevance in reality and are fictional beasts interpreted in different forms by the creators of different fantasy franchises. I swear to Akatosh every time a wyvern versus dragon comment appears in front of my eyes I lose a little bit more faith in people. I don’t even care if you were joking or not, comment is still stupid and childish.
@@sn0wyc0sm0 Agreed. The developers decided it's dragons so they are dragons, end of the story. If people have an issue they can try reasoning with Bethesda themselves but I doubt they'd get very far.
That Intuitive Dragon Riding mod (which I'll call IDR for short) is quite literally what dragon riding should've been in the vanilla game, and I mean that in the most serious way possible. The fact that a mod artist with (most likely) limited resources was able to make a smoother & more interactive dragon riding mechanic than Bethesda (a AAA video game developer) did says a lot. Bethesda should just legit hire that mod artist, or at the very least pay the person in hard cash to buy that mod off of them to put into the game (which is something I think they should do with these types of mods, but that's just my opinion.)
yeah forreal. the amount of mods that are just fixing shit (shining example is the unofficial skyrim patch mod) that shouldn't still be in this 12 year old game is absurd. really funny, but really ridiculous
It's funny to me how people act like we didn't get full dragon riding because Bethesda couldn't do it, rather than because it would break the game to just let you land anywhere you want. Like how people can just float up to the final boss in Morrowind.
@@bbillyk That's more of an issue in terms of how Bethesda won't let the player actually do things they want and accept the consequences. Which is a whole other argument.
You should definitely make this into a series, showing off more of the underrated and unsung mods that people should have. I reckon that the mod authors who worked real hard on these mods will be especially appreciative of your work. It really helps that your voice and editing style is especially professional and high quality. I actually found myself surprised and a bit sad when it ended.
The dynamic wait looks fantastic! It's the little touches that really make a game immersive, I think I'd end up using the "wait" function a lot more often with this mod.
Phenderix deserves way more credit. He also has a bunch of other mods like Magic World, Magic Evolved, Dead Thrall Overhaul, Arcane Arsenal and what not. The best part is that they all work with Ordinator and Mysticism and they don't conflict with Apocalypse, Odin, Triumvirate and Magic of Apocrypha. The things you can do with modded magic systems are insane. Edit: Oh yeah, don't forget Equippable Tomes as well.
@@griefstone3623 weird, I've been REALLY into magic mods for skyrim for many years now, and I've never heard of it. I already have all the other mods mentioned by OP
This is probably the best showcase video for this game that I've ever seen. Not to roast anyone but they are usually just "press button and in that specific place an animation will happen", mods like that are fine and all but these are what I would truly call interesting and revolutionary for skyrim and games as a whole
These are awesome suggestions; I particularly like the Phenderix; it sounds like it gives a real sense of progression in the mage path. Great other ones too; I'll have to give them a shot!
I'm not sure what it is, but there's something about the way you talk about these mods that I really appreciate, opposed to how most mod reviewers nowadays do. I think it's how direct you are about the mods and what they do, you're very precise when you describe them and I really like that. Anyways, great video, Doctor
Hey man, top-tier skyrim content! Very interested to see what your personal modlist looks like? Since I love the way characters and environment look in your videos. **Hopefully this comment doesn't get swept under the radar!**
Holy crap man your editing is crazy, the structure of the video is concise and these are in fact really cool mods people would have missed. Keep it up this is super well done.
I have found that Intuitive Dragon Riding is extremely buggy. I have only been able to get it to work once, and that was on an older version, the newer version crashes if you try and attack anything and freezes in mid air every couple seconds(also happens in older version). This really sucks because it seems really cool. Also, I'm pretty sure that the fast travel thing is vanilla? I did it without the mod installed with vanilla controls, in fact, that is how you control the dragon in vanilla.
If anyone hasn't tried the phosis necromancy mod you are really missing out if this is your one of your favorite builds they literally adds a whole new dimension to necromancy and they gave you new summons in conjurations and spells
@@ClownCar666 it kind of just all depends on what you're going for if you want super realistic and injuries and stuff I would go with gdb revenge(great for one handed builds and spell swords) and elden beast is more elder scrolls and great if you want to do a samurai or Ronin build.
@@ClownCar666 yeah this mod if you really want to experience the full effect of necromancy this mod and dead fx and magic fx mod makes it's so fun but the thing with the build is you really can't play with a follower because of how many things you can conjure up at one time like you'll have issues with your game crashing if you try to bring a follower
After this video I am definitely subscribing! I really like the way you represent each mod, and how you explain their uses and potential uses. The visual representation is also very good, it makes it a true enjoyment to watch! Your calm and and composed way of speaking makes you stand out from a lot of the other mod review channels which can, imo, be a bit too much. So I am glad I came across your channel. I will have a look through your videos, and will look forward to new ones. And of course I will have to add some mod gems to my load order. I have a question though, what kind of animation mods do you use in this video? I am thinking mostly about the spell casting animations, and the walk animation with the staff. Anyways thank you for uploading this and putting such a great effort into your work! :)
Phendrix elements looks like a great mod of what magic should be for me. Not yet perfect, but the idea of actually becoming better in an element because you use it looks amazing. I think I will add it to my next modded play.
You've got such a cool and unique voice! It really helps you standout from the many skyrim mod reviewers, and your choice of mods are cool and interesting as well!
There’s a home mod that’s more of a town, that allows players to hire guards warriors farmers priests and invite guests for feasts. I maxed out everything for the 8 warriors and 8 guards. They can basically one shot almost anything. Good times
Millions of mods on SSE alone, there are thousands of mods bound to be overlooked. You should make more of these. I've been cured of my modding addiction a few years ago, but seeing this video, it seems like I might have to come back to the game and mod it for 8 hours a day and play 30 minutes again.
You could add challenging spell learning mod Its pretty much hidden gem as it play animation and your magicka gets lower when learning and it it compatibille with everything and not so annoying as spell learning where you have to wait a long time to learn the spell. You can also change raquirament for magicka to learn the spells if learning fails.
New sub! I love the way you're reviewing these mods. You're not just skimming over them to get it over with, but actually explaining what the mods do and how it affects gameplay. Thank you for your in-depth reviews, even on this video that's covering a bunch of them! I aspire to make great content like this!
I'm currently playing Skyrim again, using a collection with 400+ mods, and the game is complety new. I have never played as mage before, but after seen this Phenderix here, I'll certainly give a try on mages role. Thanks for share this.
I'm honestly laughing as you say Voidgate has a cost and can't be abused. Being able to leave instantly, sleep at an inn, and return to the dungeon. Being able to buy more potions after each individual encounter. This is the most abuse-able teleport possible because you return to the last point it was cast.
Anyone looking for that staff animation, look up Goetia Enchanted Staves it's made by Verolevi I believe. There is a right and left hand version. Though not sure how well it meshed with GDB animation packs as far as script loading but man would that be nice to get a good GDB Sekiro Goetia combo pack haha!
i think Voidgate would be even more interesting as a mod if it included minor modifications to the system they've made in the form of other spells. consider that you play the game with it a lot, it would feel empowering to eventually discover a spell that broadens your control over the teleporting. off the top of my head you could include a discoverable/unlockable way to "reset" your anchor point, eventually overcoming said limitation.
As a huge advocate for playing vanilla Skyrim, I'll always have a huge amount of respect for the modding community. Genuine work goes into a lot of these.
What I truely appreciate about your videos is that there is no swearing or blasphemy. Keep doing what you are doing. That is great. And a huge thumbs up for all you mod authors out there. You make Skyrim a beautiful game to play.
You forgot body mods and skimpy armor conversions. Skyrim staves never made sense to me, as they're supposed to be for mages, but just cast weaker, finite versions of what you can already do. As opposed to other games where they act as a focal point to augment and concentrate your magic into to increase the outcome. The animation mod to walk with the staff like a walking stick is awesomely immersive, I'm sure I can find it later, but if you know it off the top of your head, it'd save me some time.
Yes more please and for people like me who are basically clueless when it come to using them could you do a step by step? I would really appreciate it!
We need to start a petition to get the Intuitive Dragon Riding mod into the actual game, I play PS Skyrim and I’ve always been sad that you can’t do much with the dragons. We need to get the creator of the mod seen by Bethesda and get that mod implemented into the actual game. 😩
I would like a mod that after you collect many thum you learn dragon lenguage and you can actually understand Alduin and Parthunaax when they talk dragon lenguage
Man, just found your channel and i really love your high quality content. I‘m also very curious about your animation mod and that sick necro robe your character is wearing. Would you mind sharing what mods those are? Subbed :)
Glad you're liking the videos. The robe is the Skyblivion - Master Necromancer Robes & the animation mod I think you're referring to is Goetia Animations
Great vid. Coming back to Skyrim after 6 yrs and so many changes it’s overwhelming. Your spell caster animations are unbelievable what mod do you use for your character animations? (Sorry if it’s a stupid question, but I feel like a complete noob 😂)
Could you please tell me the animation mod you are using for spells and staves they look amazing. Also these mods you have showcased are stunning thank you for sharing them. SUBSCRIBED!
Never mind, I believe I have found the mods. Goetia Animations Enchanted Staves, and the Goetia Animations Spell Casting mods. they too are amazing I totally Endorse them. :D
@@Tattletale-Delta oh, I've watched a podcast with Todd which he does mentioned that they hired a modder, but I didn't know it was a common thing. That's actually good to hear, thanks.
Why have you never done just a full on Role-play series? Tell the story of your favorite pawn that we all know you have trapped in the back of your mind. Tell us the tails of his or her trails and tribulations. I’d love to see all these awesome mods implemented in an awesome series were you explore Skyrim in the same way you make videos. Try it. Give it like 5 episode try out. What will it hurt.
you have so beautiful and high res textures and models in Skyrim, it looks like Skyrim on a new engine. I would like to put myself an assembly of mods like you
