Remember The Crow: Stairway To Heaven?

I remember watching this, Mortal Kombat Conquest, and Highlander: The Raven alot during the 1998/99 TV season. I enjoyed this show the most. Marc Dacasco was good as Eric Draven. Just wished they followed up with Shelly coming back for Season 2.

I love Crow: City of Angels. It was the best sequel with a unique style.

I've only ever seen the first film, and that's the only one I need.

Recently watched this show. After I learned of it's existence, I just had to watch it, so I found a box set on ebay. Not even ashamed to say I love it, but I love all of The Crow sequels, too. Currently working my way through the novels. Nothing holds a candle to the original film, though. Every one of Brandon's lines is delivered as if he's about to cry, but he's charismatic and just a little unhinged. It's this perfect balance that I can barely describe. The soundtrack is top notch. Highly recommend it on vinyl. And I'll probably never wear anything but goth boots on my feet for as long as I live. I think the original is just in another league compared to everything that came after, but I still enjoy everything in The Crow universe, no matter how campy. 🖤

Only The Strong is another classic he did.

Just watched One Night in Bangkok with Mark Decascas and a notif pops up from you doing The Crow series. Lol Anyway, I, for one, enjoyed the series! I feel like Mark did a really good job in the role. He wasn't trying fill Brandon's shoes. I felt like he tried to make Draven his own, yet stayed true to the character, if that makes sense.

The crow is one of my favourite movies. I’ve read the comic, watched all three of the sequels, read some of the spinoff books, and have watched every episode of stairway to heaven. I really liked stairway to heaven. Mark Dacascos is a fantastic actor and leant wonderful presence to the role. Stairway is my third favourite crow related media behind the original comic and movie.

I’m currently watching it for the first time, it’s taken about 6 episodes to get into it. I think to enjoy it you have to stop comparing it to the movie and except that’s it’s it own version of the story and characters

They had a 5 season plan the show was leading up to a battle of Heaven vs Hell and The Crows were the Avatars of Heaven sworn to protect us from those who do evil. It was going to be a whole another reason why Eric Draven was chosen. In The the movie Eric and Shelly were killed over the refusal of using there loft for Devils Night and it took a year for Eric to be brought back because at that same time Officer Albright was trying to seek justice for them but when he failed the time had come for The Crow to bring Eric Draven back to set the wrong thinks right. The show was a little different Eric found out the owner of the Black Out was ordering murder contracts and dealing in death and insurance money he and Shelly died because of this and officer Albright tried to seek justice but failed that's why it took a year to Bring Eric Draven back. There was however a deeper reason why Eric was chosen a man named Mr Reyes ordered so many deaths because he was hoping that one would be brought back as a Crow so he would convert that avatar into a Snake to do evil and he succeed with Eric Draven.

The crow is one of those movies that REALLY should have been a one and done. When you look at the original comic by James O'Barr , he wrote as a way to get over the tragic death of his girlfriend caused by a drunk driver. It was never supposed to be a big moneymaker franchise. I know Brandon Lee had a contract to star in 2 sequels. Why? What more story can you tell? His only purpose was to avenge his and his fiancé's death. That's it. Eric Draven is not a crime fighter superhero. He's a vengeful spirit. And just look at the sequels we did get. They are nothing but pale imitations of the original. The exact same film, except worse in every way. And this new one looks like same ol' crap! Also , as much as I love the original, the reason it was so successful was the tragedy involved. People knew this was the last time we were ever going to see Brandon, and this turned a film that was only going to probably do ok commercialy and become a cult classic in a few years into a major summer blockbuster. That's why all the sequels have failed: the studios think we liked it because of the gothic looking dude who jumps on the rooftops and kills the bad guys. While Brandon's presence and, sadly, the horrific tragedy that occured to him gave The Crow so much publicity . This is not a gigantic IP. It's a character with one successful movie that will never be replicated. So , please, Hollywood, stop this bullshit. Even if you have Tom Cruise in the Eric Draven role this is not going to be a new Mission Impossible. Rant over.

Dacascos was amazing in the role. Stewart and Gomes too. But the series was really hurt by the bad acting of almost every guest, the incredibly low budget and the attempt to make it too child friendly. I found the consept of snakes as the inverse of the crows different and somewhat interesting. But the literal cliff hanger at the end made me crave for more. The series isn't very rewatchable though nowadays. Mark Dacascos seems to be an amazing person too. When the series was still playing, I emailed him asking for an autograph from him and he literally snail mailed me an autograph halfway across the planet for free, I would love to see him return to the role

Mark definitely looked the role and could do the fight choreography. I think if given the right script and director they probably could have pulled off a good follow-up to the crow that would have made Brandon proud.

My fav Crow version - for completely subjective reasons: my undeniable crush on Mark Dacascos with long hair, the fact that I had to argue with my sister each week cuz she wanted to watch a soap opera on another channel (the horrors of an one-tv set household) ...I did battle for this show and won (most of the time)

One of my favorite comics and movies and shows. Mark should have gotten to be the crow in a movie. He is a talented guy. Crazy good skills.

The format of the TV show reminds me a lot of the old Incredible Hulk series. I enjoyed the watch.

A big reason the show ended was because Mark let his agent tell him he was better than the show. I loved the show and I would tape it off syndication here since it aired while I was at work.

The show was phenomenal

It was indeed a one season wonder in syndication. Why wasn't Mark not the replacement for Brandon, I will never know.

This is not a remake but more of a adaptation of the actual novel. Mark Dacascos really looks a lot like Brandon Lee in some shots plus he adds more character and depth to Eric Draven the series was only good for one season. The girl who played sara was spot on even the cop was cool too. This show added many plot twist and extra story to make a very interesting show.

There was some good music on this show. Remy Zero provided a track before they were something for a minute because of Smallville. Then, there were the lesser known acts. I still own the Tin Star album featured on the show.

Gosh, I loved that show! At that time there was also a BLADE tv series which was ...well ... not good, but this one rocked!

I remember watching this back in the day. It was always back to back with the Conan the Adventurer show.

Men i enjoy this show so much as a kid hell i still go back today to watch it. To me did better on the sequels and expanded more on the lore and glad they took a different approach to the story men miss the 90’s

The dumbest part of this show was rewriting Eric’s revenge arc to be tamer, he doesn’t kill any of the bad guys, and then there’s really dumb aspect that bad guys killed by a ‘Crow’ come back as an evil version called Snakes
