They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
So many young people who never had a chance to grow old and be a part of humanity, to leave a contribution for the future. So much potential never realized, so many hopes not allowed to come about. If we do not protect the concepts and documents that moved them to go in harms way, then we cheapen their sacrifice.
RIP, Americas heroes. There is no thanking them for their service, but we can still silently thank them for the sacrifice. My fellow countrymen, we must honor them by standing tall for what this country stands for. We should not, and cannot, allow any oppression of the rights they died to protect be infringed upon by any group, whether foreign or domestic. We can find solace in the fact that they no longer have to fight, but we must acknowledge the fact that they can’t be here to enjoy the fruits of their labor. These brave men and women may be gone, but we can’t let them ever be forgotten. I hope they made it to the other side, and are enjoying a new kind of freedom in a better place, while others continue on to maintain their legacy, and some of those go on to join them in an eternal victory party. 🫡
