George Hamilton IV was an American country musician. He began performing in the late 1950s as a teen idol, later switching to country music in the early 1960s. Hamilton won a special Juno Award for his contribution to Canadian Music. He passed away from a heart attack on September 17, 2014.
Here is an interview on 100 Huntley Street with him as we remember him fondly and keeping his family in our prayers.

Had the pleasure of meeting and opening for him at four gospel concerts here in the UK some years ago. A true gentleman.

May he R.I.P. I had no idea he went Home to Be With Jesus.. I loved to hear him sing and he was a beautiful Gospel Singer. I loved to hear him tell of how Amazing Grace got written....

I was honoured to have met George a true gentle man such a pleasure the last time was 2014 when George was performing on the Americana notts uk as he did so each year and sadly that was the last one to be I will always remember you George and miss you rip my dear friend

George stayed at the Clifton Arms in the UK where I worked he was such an amazing gentleman, my friend and I went to most of his concerts when he was on tour and when we visited Charlotte NC and went to the Opry when he was performing there and went backstage with him - AMAZING PRECIOUS MEMORIES xxx

I had the pleasure and priviledge of meeting that lovely man in the early 80's when he was performing in Monaco. He was absolutely charming and a real gentleman. R.I.P.

I spoke with George at Jimmy C. Newman's Funeral, in June of 2014. What a nice gentleman he was. I saw him at the Grand Ole Opry many times Only three months later, he was gone. I know all of the Star's, and Musician's respected him very much. There's nothing better to have than a good name. .

George Hamilton IV was a gentle, friendly country star who had hundreds of thousands of fans all over the world and in the UK he was always known as the 'International Ambassador of Country Music'. We had the privilege of being able to book him onto our huge festival ten times from the early 90s until he left us all. R.I.P George IV will will always love and remember you.

Once I crossed the border between Niagara Falls Canada to Niagara Falls New York just to get a baby Ruth candybar so I could give it to George IV with a rose for his birthday. (concert in Canada) My favorite singer ever. RIP my friend!

I met him two or three times, both at Providence Baptist Church and Pritchard Memorial Baptist, here in Charlotte, NC. A very nice Christian gentleman.
