I hope all those former schoolmates can see him today and feel disgusted by their actions in the past. This guy is actually quite known here in Korea and he's also known for being Kim Youngchul's (Knowing Bros) English teacher (not sure if that's still the case). At least he's living a good life today while his old Korean schoolmates are probably having a stressful life at the office.
I'm always so surprised when I hear about this type of bullying (in Korea)... One of my good friends, growing up, was from Korea... I now have an 11 year-old son, one of his best friends was born in Korea, and another is second-generation... Their mothers have become my friends as well and they are both so awesome. During the pandemic, we have focused on play dates with our three boys. I guess ignorance is found everywhere... I'm black (American), so I am very familiar with racism and bigotry... I hope those bullies have changed their thought process.
@@simpleandsweetshares2174 really you are surprised?? Lmfao what Korea is one of the homogeneous country if we have racism’s and discrimination in countries like USA and uk where the society is multicultural you think it wouldn’t be bad country where 99% people are from same race and culture?
@@Vampybattie It get's worse in countries with unbalanced demographics, that's why very mixed nations have so many problems i.e African countries, central Asian and Middle Eastern where there are many different cultures and ethnic groups. In a country where you are rare and not seen as a cultural threat, people are less worried. It's basic human behaviour to be defensive of one's ethnicity/culture as it is "survival" to a human, as it is to any animal. Not always positive trait but one that is part of being human.
My children are half Asian, too. The older one was attacked, bullied, but she fought back. My younger one was at an alternative school where she was amazingly protected, not just by her friends, but their older siblings, as well. I did notice favoritism towards the white relatives by their one grandma, but I don't think the grandma of my older daughter would have done that. I am thankful my husband's father just loved them unconditionally.
I'm just going to copy and paste my comment. There's nothing wrong with being mixed. I don't know if you know this yet. It's just the way of life. People just value appearance and the ordinary things over character and extraordinary things. You're beautiful just the way you are Being two doesn't make you less of one, it makes you more in one. 🎨🥰 Imagine if all paintings and flowers had one color....😬😬😬😬🥶 Mix people brings two to four worlds together, I guess. 😂 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🥰
I'm Asian and Native American/Hispanic mix. My brother and I at the time growing up were the mixed kids at the Asian gatherings. I often got asked who my father was at those parties because I didn't look fully Asian as I had different features. In school I was too Asian to be in the Hispanic groups or too Hispanic to be Asian groups. Even among my Asian peers in school I was called "half Asian". It's more difficult I say around family that it felt like I didn't belong because it was so traditional and my brother and I was different so we were treated differently compared to my fully Asian cousins. But with the new generation and thinking, it's more acceptable now as it was when I was growing up so not as much judgement in family. But, I'm proud of my diversity as I have ties to different cultures.
Well even for full blood ethnicity living in a different country you get the same discrimination. I was born in The US but full Mexican, I don’t look fully Mexican because of my lighter skin. I was called white washed in Mexico and beaner in America. In the end nothing really bothered me, I knew who I was and made haters incredibly uncomfortable being more confident then them. I think mixed races are cool because they get so much culture it’s amazing to see them blend everything together.
@@yadiaag7771 No such thing as mixed races as there are only one race. This “different human race” concept is very American, and not new. Imported from Nazi Germany during WW2, and colonial America to justify genocide of millions of 1st nation and indigenous Americans, slavery, theft of land and colonialism in general!
You can’t look “Asian” as Asian is a geographical term and not a race nor ethnicity🫣👀😬🙄 Hispanic only means that you speak Spanish regardless of ethnicity/nationality… and you can’t be half a person. Percentage and blood quantity doesn’t matter. You can’t measure people. You are who you are based on the blood/DNA of your ancestors running trough you. And regardless of what people say or assume due to ignorance, racism and prejudice, only you can decice what to identify as.
It's most countries. Exceptions are certain urban areas or countries with a majority mixed population like in many Carribean or Latin American countries...
It's no one's fault for being born yet alone mixed. Anyone who has an issue with it or make it one, I pray you shed away your parents learned toxicity and stop projecting onto others 🤮
I love this guys attitude amazing❤️. He should be an actor he is not only a beautiful person but everyone would love to see him more on the screen. I know I would.
For all hafus out there. School is not a lifetime thing. After college and stuff most of your classmates dont stick around. Just keep doin you. Study to the best you can and validation can be great but its nothing that important that needs your attention. Dont let it stop you. ✊
i'm half korean and half swedish and my whole life i was made fun of in Stockholm and stared at and laughed at when i visited Seoul. its crazy now people actually have the opposite response to me in both countries where i am celebrated, desired, and honoured. its honestly crazy, like full 180. i'm dating a somali guy here in sweden and i know our children will be insanely beautiful but i hope my kids in the future don't experience the stuggles i did
My children "half Swedish, half Black American"...I write that in quotes because one must ask are they really half anything when our Creator gave Adam & Eve the genes for all colors of the One Human race....narrowed down to one family that survived the flood- Gen 9:19 says..."These three were Noah's sons, and all the Earth's population came from them and spread abroad.".....So get over it y'all haters and start concentrating on a new earthly start with all our family united.!......and by the way this teaching helped my children survive the "What is you, black or white?" questions from the blacks in the southern town we live in. Being black I was expecting the scorn more from the southern whites who although unapproving still kept their mouths shut. So you just make your Somalii-Swedish kiddies proud of being able to demonstrate more profoundly via their appearance that, which we all are,...members of the same human race🥰
Woah I'm half Somali 🤣 Dont worry, Somali people are really amazing and somalis are gonna love them and I hope the swedish community accepts them as well☺
So many Somalis and Ethiopians in Sweden - Is there a reason why? I think it's cool, just curious... I love Chef Marcus Samuelsson... An Ethiopian, adopted by Swedish parents. & yes, your kids are going to be GORGEOUS, no doubt about it!
@@simpleandsweetshares2174 i think its becuase sweden is a leader in terms of ethics and humanity, we took in many somali refugees but i wish countries like Japan that are part of the G7 would participate in global humanity.they took like14 syrian refugees... borders aren't real but humanity is...
I know how he feels. I am Korean-Filipino and when I was a kid in the Philippines, since I did look so Korean in an all-Filipino school, I was bullied a bit and some would even make the "slanted eyes" gesture in front of me. It hurt for a while, but now, I've never been more proud to be both Korean and Filipino. I made a lot of friends in the Philippines that I still meet up with whenever I would go on a vacation there and I also have made Korean friends and they even became friends with my Filipino friends. I was lucky that both the Korean and Filipino sides of my family made me feel loved and accepted growing up.
@Jk They are hypocrite. Actually, there are many south east Asian people who have big eyes and sharp features unlike east Asian and they make fun of Asian with small and slanted eyes. It's internalize racism.
I'm half white half asian too but luckily I lived in a very multicultural area growing up so I was never really bullied for it or called half-breed. I felt special and unique to have two different sides although at times I did feel a little out of place on both sides when with different family members. It wasn't until I was older that I had a group of asian friends where I really felt at times like I did not fit in based on the comments they would make, saying I was whitewashed etc. They were still my friends but I definitely felt like I wasn't "asian" enough for them at times and that I didn't always belong.
I’m half Swedish and half Chinese. I too, was called all sorts of names growing up... it makes me so sad to hear that others were bullied too for being mixed 😢😢😢❤️
@@elleno1921 you said people get bullied for being mixed. I'm saying that people get bullied for all sorts of reasons. Anyhows whatever, let's not be bullies and be kind, have a nice day 🙂

It is sad how people try to hurt people just because they are biracial…. I have seen n met a lot of folks who are biracial and they are successful…strong character…smart…compassionate towards others…Positive characters bec they were properly guided and raise with love…We are all God’s creation..
I can relate to that. I’m half Filipino and Chinese and when I was young, kids would make fun of me therefore, seeing this is not very rare. But look how he grew up! He’s handsome!
@@elsacalliste2421 People can look completely different than their parents and also one side of the genepool can be much stronger than the other but it doesn't take away, that they are half.
I got into the Korean culture looking for my sisters. My father had a set of twin girls while at war and lost contact with his Korean family. Sadly I have no info to go on. I hope I can one day meet them or perhaps their children. Love this channel God bless you all
A shot in the dark could be doing dna tests and uploading them to different websites like ancestery, myheritage, 23andme i.e places with autosomal dna testing. Uploading to different to make as big splash as possible and hopefully finding something. Perhaps if you get a match there you can find your 3rd or 4th cousin or perhaps even closer and work from there. RU-vid: Using autosomal DNA to Find Cousins & Break Thru Brick Walls (Maurice Gleeson)
@@MrFalken91 you are so helpful thank you for the suggestions. I am going to look into these avenues and pray that someone reaches out. You gave me a little hope in what seems like a helpless situation. 🙏🏾Yah bless you!!!
I can relate to that. My dad is half chinese-half european and my mom is european. My dad once told me that when he grew up in Amsterdam his schoolmates mocked and bullied him for being a mixed race. To prevented that, he insisted that me and my siblings should attended a private international school in Geneva.
I'll tell you some straight facts. Kids don't bully others because they are mixed race, they bully others because they are bullies. They just have to identify some difference and pick on it and if it works they'll continue if not they'll give up.
This was me. I am half Japanese and half Korean-unusual mix. As a teen, I could not understand why girls did not like me until a friend told me, "It's because you're not pure." Huh?
I can understand how he feels. Being half Chinese and half Indian, I was called a half-breed a lot... It's quite demeaning.. People like us feel like we don't fit anywhere...
I'm not mixed but I lived in many countries as I was growing up so I have always been a foreigner wherever I went, even amongst the ethnic group I am from... I guess because my behavior+mentality is a mix of everywhere I've been and not specifically one place.
Oooh! There used to be a little chicken place like that by my school in Seoul. The chicken soup was SO good! It's very similar to an American chicken soup but more fresh. 😊
@@nicoleraheem1195 bish speak for yourself, there are plenty of good hardworking southerners that cherish their cooking. That's your own subjective opinion, stop generalizing because you happened to eat a shitty, undercook, unseasoned meal!
@@GoGoPooerRangers Hahahah Do you eat out much? Southern food is good but it doesn't have ANYTHING on Asian dishes ... Ps. I was raised in the South... Chattanooga Tennessee and Conyers Georgia to be exact.😎 And so, I speak from experience.😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😁☺️
I live in USA. A country of multi ethnic background. I’m full Asian of my race but I look mix. If my hair is blonde I look predominantly Caucasian and a little Asian. Darker hair and I look Latin/Caucasian and a little Asian. My race makes fun of me all the time, criticizing me and was always mean to me because I looked different, liked different things and characteristics differ. I never understood why people are like that.
I am not mixed but people are afraid to brooch the subject and ask. So the college I went to assumed the whole time I was Hispanic. And even though I put nothing down as it is optional for ethnicity somebody put down that I was Asian...at my current job.
Wow he is hot, like really handsome. I'm reading a lot of comments on how people who are mixed were either called half breeds or not allowed in monoracial spaces because who they are. As a black girl, I always wanted to play with the mixed race kids because I was just really curious about them. They are regular people but they have the best features of both parents. I have mixed cousins and I've always wanted to date outside my race because why not. Sorry you guys had to go through that, but I hope this didn't affect any chance of you guys being open everyone.
I’m a quater Chinese and the rest British, I remember being told in school that “I’m not even good enough to be fully white or fully Asian”, I got called white by Asian people and “not white” by white people. I got all the racist Chinese jokes thrown at me and got called yellow a lot, and to top it off I study Japanese so I get told often I’m a shame to my race (which I got from my grandad too). I wanted to talk excitedly about Chinese New Year and other things with other Chinese students, but they looked down on me like my opinion was invalid. For a period of time I wished I could just be fully one race or atleast half, but as I’ve grown ive realised I’m so proud to be Chinese ☺️ I still feel not as worthy as my quater Chinese friend who speaks Chinese but I’m getting better at accepting myself. It’s really cool to be part Chinese and it’s awesome looking back at our long family tree, even if I look mainly white I still consider an important part of myself Chinese ☺️
I can relate I’m a quarter Japanese and the rest African. However, I managed to get some asian features. I was teased for my slanted eyes, got called “Jackie chan’s” daughter told I eat cats & dogs & I couldn’t fit in anywhere I was too “asian” for black people even though I’m more black than asian & too black for asian people
Accept who you are and be happy with yourself. Every part of you is amazing and important. You don't have to care about other validation because it's already in you. Just because your different than most doesn't meant you have to let them sway you because they don't matter.
Poor guy. So sad that he had to experience all that. I’m Mexican/Moroccan but I live in a city in California that is super progressive and doesn’t tolerate racism. I can’t wait to live in a world where we leave all that crap behind and open borders to everyone. One Love!
Ummm I'm American. Thats not true. I didn't think people still think all we eat is fast food. We're a melting pot of cultures. My parents are Panamanian and so there are tons of ways to enjoy a dish
What he said is not true about American food. He is just limited on what he has eaten. We eat many types of chicken dishes, baked, grilled, boiled, steam. There are many different cultures who live in USA, so we have a large variety of different foods. The low cost of food in Korea is amazing. Not so much in USA.
If is true, accept it..the more you denied the more it hurts you.if somebody tell your fat and you're really fat accept it because it's true, you can't do anything to those people coz it part of society..the change must come from with in
