My aunt, who's now 96, used to play In "The Still of the Night" all the time. I still think that it's the great doo-wop song ever recorded. R.I.P. Fred Parris. He's probably doing harmonies with the angels.
In 1956, after midnight, in the Bronx NY, I was riding around with a friend of mine when I heard on my radio the disc jockey play a new record. I Ioved it then, I loved it since, I will always love the feeling and mood it puts me in. RIP Mr. Parris, doowop FOREVER.

Sonny, a fitting tribute to a true doo wop icon. I was blessed to have had the chance to meet him in September, at lunch in the Longhorn.... He was a true gentleman, even obliged in taking a picture, and conversed with us at length about the music of that era. An unforgettable day. RIP Mr. Parris.
