This is why we still should have CBC. This is important. And they do it best. But it really upsets me that the comment section is usually closed. It should always be open. We, as citizens, pay for it. You should be accountable for your programs and reporting.

The CBC has stopped printing and filming the truth. They have become the controlled mouth piece of the corrupt Liberal Government and a very corrupt PM trudeau.. They make us ashamed to be a Canadian, as long as they behave in this manner. To them the government payoff $$$$$$ that matters, not the Truth

I'm not sure who to talk to, but somehow I wanted to pass along my approval to the organizers of the Remembrance Day musical arrangements. Specifically, I was quite pleased with their inclusion of the theme from the mini-series "Band of Brothers." Great addition! I would love it if they included the theme for "The Pacific" next year. As always, in honour of all of the veterans who served: thank you for your bravery, service, and sacrifice.

Canadians were stationed in my village in Hampshire, England during both world wars and we have a lovely Canadian War Memorial. Every year on Canada Day there is a memorial service honouring those who died, as there are over 300 graves of Canadians who died in the Great War in our local churchyard. Often a Canadian veteran comes over to join in the memorial service and gives a talk to the villagel school.

Having watched a portion of the Remembrance Day service from Ottawa, I regret to say that I had to turn it off due to personal cringing and taking offence at those gathered there. During the moments’ silence the cameras found people talking and checking their cell phones. Even some of the military personnel could not maintain their silence. For me, the final stroke was the reference to King Charles III as King Charles the second. At that point, I turned off the service. Not only have Canadian schools failed to teach thee importance of this day for at least one generation but they continue to do so. Not only have Canadians not supported the RCL by buying poppies this year but too many have failed to remember the service, deaths and sufferings of our protectors including and perhaps led by our federal government in not caring for our veterans in the ways they deserve. Today I am embarrassed by my own people and my own government. My sincere appreciation to all who served.

It is the Soldier, not the minister, who has given us freedom of religion. It is the Soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to protest. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag. This poem by Charles M. Province: It is a Soldier. We all live freely here in Canada today, because our brave men and women were willing to sacrifice it all on foreign shores. Thank you.

Detonating artillery shells falling on Dunkirk echoed in the distance. It was late May, 1940, my father was only eleven years old. He was in a small restaurant with my grandfather, the two of them perplexed by the French soldier sitting next to them having a feast. The soldier's meal was lavish, far in excess of what virtually all Europeans were used to in those days of rationing. My grandfather struck up conversation with the soldier. "Excuse me, but you are using up all your ration coupons on this one meal. What will you eat later if you spend them all like this?" The soldier smiled forlornly and explained, "Tomorrow the Germans will attack." He would have no further use for his coupons. He had no intention of retreat. This was his last supper. For that soldier who died protecting my father and all the rest of us. For all the others I could never begin to name or even know of. For all those who stand the wall. Thank you.

Thanks for this coverage, CBC. It is so important for new generations to remember the sacrifices made for our current freedom and lifestyle. Three asks: 1) more than 24 wreaths were laid at the cenotaph, PLEASE TELL US in the commentary WHO is laying the wreaths AND for WHOM they are placed!!! and 2) despite the harsh truth that the American rabbi so eloquently spoke -if CBC has any influence in these choices- please have CANADIANS speak for Canadians in the future!!! and finally 3) where is Trudeau?!?!

I even watched Tim Cook's interview with Steve Paikin on Agenda, plus I work in a library and I have seen lots of Tim's war history books. At some point Mrs Barton tells another War museum historian, her guest "you know more history than most of us". Even the journalist who was interviewing the crowd didn't seem to informed. He remarked to a person from the crowd that 'it must be cold in the Arctic". There is much material out there, but I guess journalists don't have the time...

In March, Fortune published a pair of articles titled “The housing market enters uncharted waters” and “An economic shock just hit the housing market” arguing just that: The red-hot housing market would quickly shift in the face of spiked mortgage rates, which had jumped from 3.2% in January to over 4% by late March.
