I got one a year and a half ago just before the WuFlu struck. I didn't know at the time the troubles Remington was going through. I ended up replacing the stamped extractor for a machined one from Volquartsen which solved my failure to extract issues. I replaced the standard polymer furniture with Magpul and it's a night and day difference. Way better recoil buffer and the stock is a nice hybrid of a standard stock and pistol grip. Great feel and easy to control. I've done a couple other things with my 870 but the extractor replacement and the Magpul furniture are a must IMO.
I paid $309 out the door for my new 870 with wood stock and a 28 inch barrel I'm guessing about an other $130 for the Magpal sga furniture So, about $440 & mine will look like that one. I'm not sure on an 18 inch barrel price. I might see if I can trade my 28 for an 18 inch at my local Gun shop
I purchased a 23” vent ribbed barrel for this model only to realize after the fact that the thread for the magazine tube on the Rem is situated towards the muzzle and not in front of the forend. Therefore the new barrel will not work out. I paid 200 +tax I’ll take 150 for it never used. There’s my shameless pitch. Anyway, does anyone know if Remington makes an extended vent ribbed barrel for this model?
4 yrs after this video was made you'll be lucky to even find a shotgun but if you do you're surely not gonna pay what the person who uploaded this video was selling it for at the time
@@1977Yakko Don't know what a scheels is as we don't have those where I'm located. The price of firearms and ammo should be coming down though now. I have no idea what the national price average would be for 870 with magpul furniture. I have an 870 express tactical with an 18.5 inch barrel which came stock with a pistol grip and factory installed 2 shot extension that I bought in 2011, they don't make that particular model anymore though, it was called an "other" on the 4473 form at the time I purchased it. I guess they replaced that model with what they call the shockwave
@@oscardelta1257 Scheels is a sporting goods outlet that I assume is only in certain regions. The other person who commented on your post (creatine addict) also stated he got his from there. As for the 870 Express Tactical I got, it had a standard polymer stock, 2 shot extension tube for a total of 6, the sights with a rail and the breaching choke which I joking call the anti-zombie device. I was having some failure to extract issues with it and it seems replacing the cheap extractor which was a stamped part with a machined one has fixed that issue. I was seriously considering trading the thing for a Mossberg if I couldn't get it to function reliably but the new extractor did the trick. I added Magpul furniture to it as well which I find to be ergonomically friendly. I've done a couple other things to it as well but those two are the modifications I did that improve its functionality IMO.
