Messing with this for about two years with meat blood etc taunting us from below the glass shelf. Watched your quick video and it looks like new again. Thank you very much. Mike
Thanks boss. Had some dried carrot juice for the past three years on the bottom of the glass. Tried multiple times to clean it over the years. Watched video and took me ten minutes to get it all done and put back
And here I thought I would have to live with the spills inside the glass. I just bought the refrigerator last month. Thanks a million for the tutorial it was a game changer. Now I'm proud of the refrigerator once again 🤣🤣
This was so helpful! I didn't read the comments before starting and broke one of the clips trying to pry it off. Maybe flipping the shelf over, as someone suggested, might have helped? But the clips don't seem necessary and I'm happy to be rid of them. Thanks again for the excellent video!
I just finished cleaning my entire fridge cursing it for over an hr and all I had to do was watch this video. Now I'm going back to my fridge and getting all the orange juice out from under the glass LOL thank you!!! Now if I could just get the ice maker to work for once! Horrible ice maker. Samsung didn't clearly think when they designed it. Said heck with it and went and bought a countertop ice maker lol
Thank you so much!!! My daughter have a carton of Minute Maid fruit punch on the top shelf and it's slow dripped all through my refrigerator. The glass was filled underneath with fruit punch. I search a while to find a video and yours was perfect. Thank you again.
This was the third video I watched on this... I just popped the two clips off at the back corners. And slid the glass out to clean.. I didn't remove the entire shelf.. So much easier.. Then lined the glass once put back in with shelf liner.. Viola'.. Lol. Thanks for the idea !
Jason you are beyond awesome! Bill could not get the shelf out…I followed your expert, detailed instructions and took it out! Thank you. We had to replace a small piece in the motherboard (another Samsung flaw)!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!! There's nothing in the users manual and my husband and I were about to go crazy trying to figure this out. We felt like the clips had something to do with it but were afraid to force them. Would it really have been such a big deal to just include the instructions in the manual? Anyway, thanks so much for keeping us from breaking something and now having a sparkling clean fridge. 😁
Ditto what everyone else has said. Saw those clips and what looked like a place to stick a screwdriver in but was not really quite sure what to do. After the vid I said WTF and went for it. Came up after a few tries. My wife is very happy so thanks!
Thanks for your detailed review! I thought that you saved the day BUT unfortunately my 16 month old model RF27T5201 didn't have the push-in tabs like yours. I'll have to continue the search...
Thanks for the video Jason However my clips don't want to push in, not sure why they're being so stiff. Enough to try pliers or something in order to get them to push in. Wondering if any of your other viewers have the same problem.
Very helpful. Just got a similar fridge from a family member to use as a secondary fridge. They spilled something inside that collected under the glass.
What a helpful video. I have trying to figure out how to clean the tracks. I skipped 1 step. I only pop the tabs and lifted the glass. Cleaned it and done. I didn't pull the shelf. Cleaned tracks in the fridge. A little easier for me. Thank you for you guidance.
Subscribed, Jason, you really helped me! I was trying 2 times before to remove it to cleanup the drying liquid underneath the edge of big class but failed. Now I can remove the whole piece with your instruction, it's clean and fresh now! Thank you sooooo much!
Thank you so much for explaining this. I couldn't find any documentation on this. I was unable to push the buttons in and release the entire shelf so I just removed the glass top by popping the tabs. Except I found that you have to push the screw driver in further than you think to safely pop off the tab. I ended up breaking the tabs but they're not really needed. The glass will stay in place without them.
You don’t need those clips and you don’t need to take it out just break the clips and slide the glass out the clips are there to make sure the glass doesn’t move when it’s being shipped
Thanks so much for this comment !! Made my life a thousand times easier.. I just popped the clips in the back corners and removed the glass itself. Not the entire shelf.. So much easier. I was gonna pull a muscle in my back fighting with the entire shelf.. A++++ great input.. Thanks again ! 🎯
I had that same thing happen... just need to apply a little more pressure on those tabs, maybe even some warm soapy water if they are sticky. And it should come apart.
Thank you! Mine had a different type of push buttons in the front, and it never worked. But I was able to remove the two clips on top easier and then take out the glass panel.
It's not easy - takes some twisting and turning and maneuvering, but it slides in on either side of the ice maker. Just need to carefully manipulate it until you can sneak it out
I just googled "Samsung French door glass shelf clip replacement" and got a few things that popped up. I would see if one of those seems to match your particular model
Thank you soooo much you are a lifesaver I had to get two small flat heads to help me push those tabs they were very hard but I did it thanks for the video
You are a lifesaver! We had some meat juice leak into there. So gross! We didn't know how we were going to get that out! Why isn't this information in the manual????
Thank you! I left that shelf inside and popped the clips and just removed the glass to clean it. I did't break the clips, but if I had, it will still sit in the frame without an issues. I hate this fridg.
Clips on back are terrible. I just left them off for easier cleaning. Another suggestion for keeping shelf clean is to line it with plastic shelf liner covering the edges of glass and plastic edges. Best wishes. 🙋🏻♀️
Ty!!! I was finally able to clean mine after chicken soup spilled, and I couldn't get in there to clean it all up. It was starting to smell and was driving me crazy! Now, if you could do one for the stupid humming sound that it's making as if it was making ice, but I don't have the water line hooked up or ice maker on.
I knew it, how to take out this cover for cleaning and doing it for years, some how this time my wife broke the glass while cleaning. Samsung sells whole assembly for $180. Alternately I bought transparent PVC sheet instead of glass for $20 from Home Depot and work done. Now no more danger of broken glass for whole life.......
