Thank you for these clear and concise instructions. I was quoted $250 to have it done, and it did it myself in 20 minutes. This is a seriously underrated lens, and I didn’t want to have to buy new gear.
I have one of these on the way and had heard tales of its dust magnetism. Thank you so much for this video. Knowing how easy it is to clean now has put me much more at ease.
Dude, your out here doings gods work🙏 I just bought this lens cheap on eBay but the seller mentioned it had lots of dust so I’m pretty confident now I can clean it myself when it comes in!
It’s helped a ton! I added one and haven’t cleaned it since. There is a tiny bit of dust under there currently but not enough to see in a photo or need to clean.
Awesome tutorial! Where did you learn how to do this? I bet Canon would charge $100 bucks to perform this task and justify it by saying “yeh, it’s gonna be a few days at least, because the lens has to be disassembled, bla bla Hunny dollas.”
You forgot to mention one VERY IMPORTANT THING......make sure you do this in an as much Dust free environment as possible. Otherwise when you open it and close it back up, you are just going to be trapping a bunch more dust inside it..
