appreciate the sudden resurgence in interest for z31's when I got mine 6 year's ago there was pretty much nothing for years except a handful of vids so I kept a lot of stuff stock and went off old forum post's never knew I could do this without causing issue thank you!!!
awesome video man! Just picked up my first na z31 yesterday and it has been sitting for 8 years. Currently in the process of cleaning up the fuel system and tank and replacing sending unit and possibly fuel pump. Was looking for everything i could get rid of on the car and this video helps a lot. One thing I did want to ask about was if i deleted the egr, all unnecessary vacuum lines, vacuum pump, ac, iac and converted to a electric fan would i need my ecu tuned for all of these possible deletes. This is the first time i have dealt with something this old so I am not super versed in the system. I have worked with a lot of new stuff and usually if you change anything on 2010 and up cars you usually have to get it tuned due to the computers.
On these cars you can’t really tune the ECU, you either have to get a stand alone or another ECU, you’re going to have idle issues for sure when you go and turn it on so you’ll have to crack the throttle body open a bit to keep it idling,
What he said... You can do those deletes with no issue. Except for the Idle Control. For that you need to adjust the idle through the throttle body, but not hard at all. Don't worry about the ECU until you get to swapping major internals like a bigger turbo. You can remove the cruise control too if you're going to remove the vacuum pump. Frees up a good amount of space
@@_chrisbtw @jef6404 Awesome, i really appreciate the help and makes understanding the car a lot more easier! Will definitely be looking into getting rid of cruise control because i hear the more space I can make the better! Y'all rock and thanks for the videos Chris!
