Wonderful! Just purchase today. Melted away years of brake dust easily. A little brush cleaning inside the lug holes and 12 years of dust all gone. Thanks for this video!
I was really thinking the same thing..my big suv makes the wheel look like that after a week. But either way it's good to see actual real world results. And acid cleaners over time hurt the rims..been there done that. pH balance blah blah blah
I had calipers that were toast! After getting a major overhaul of brakes, calipers and what-not, I had a thick baked layer of brake rust that wouldn't come off. A guy at an auto stop suggested I get some kind of acid. I saw this post, bought it from Walmart and it dissolved the crud off in seconds! My 17 year-old Yukon's polished rims looked almost new!! Before you buy "acid," ay least try this stuff.
I detailed 2 Audi’s today, 1st one is for college girl wirh rich parents & I haven’t cleaned in over a year. She uses this car as a trash can inside but the rims were brown filthy. Normally, I clean most wheels with “Super Clean” dilluted 5/1 but today I used “Super Clean” aerosol, it worked AMAZING ! Next Audi, out of the blue client from 3-4 years ago calls for detail for her Audi & these rims were worse than college girl Audi, Super Clean aerosol again and now I’m just speechless how much time I saved. Thank you Scott for bringing videos of this product, I’ll try EagkeOne next...I’ve been using their carnuaba spraywax for drying aid&seems good with great price.
Scott, you are the man. I Use your tips and pick up products you recommend with amazing results. It used to be a real chore for me to clean my cars. And I did not do a very good job. Now I do a much better job, much faster and have save a few bucks. Good bless, Thank you Scott
Scott my man, I have a suggestion and I am thinking maybe someone else may have asked you previous but I have not seen it. This idea just might be too difficult as I do none of this video you tube other than watching and hopefully absorbing. But as I age the absorbing kind of is like a hard dried up old old sponge. Okay here is my suggestion. Maybe you could have a closing page to all of your videos with the most current products and tools you currently use and stand by. As you discover new products you like you add or replace them on this page maybe at the very end of every video going forward. I am sure it would be a whole lot of work but once you had the outline then adding replacing or subtracting would not be so difficult, hopefully. Just a thought Scott.. In my book you are the encyclopedia for detailers. Thank you.
I would absolutely love if there was some area where we could look up your current product recommendations for things like iron contaminant and brake dust removers, car soap, paint sealing or waxes and drying aids, as well as equipment, from power washers to spray bottles, brushes, etc. I'm a 66-year old woman who just bought a new car and find myself interested in all that you have to say. I'm extremely new to all of this and have bought many things you have recommended, but sometimes find that I'll later come across a video you shot at a later point in time with your new favorite. Thank you so much for your helpful, common-sense and plain-talking videos!
The eagle one stuff works as advertised but if you want something more effective, the meguires ultimate wheel cleaner is the way to go (it is almost twice the cost as well FYI). I did an extreme test just this morning between the Eagle One and Meguires on my car where I did some modifying the other day with a grinder to a caliper bracket and some of the iron dust made it's way onto the paint (didn't realize this at first but when I got home this morning, my blue car was orange!). So i ran over to wally world and picked up a few bottle of each. The Eagle one has a MUCH better sprayer and spreads more evenly (it's also a thinner consistency), the Meguires is thicker and sticks better allowing it to break down the iron more effectively. What I also noticed when it washed it down was the Meguires gel encapsulated and washed the particles off better that were not completely broken down. The eagle one left A LOT of the iron particle behind, didn't break much of it down. Now, this was on paint and a very extreme case, but it was my experience and made spending the extra $5 on the meguires worth it (for wheel cleaning and chemical decon). Thanks for your videos scott, found out about both products because if your videos.
Am thinking spraying a panel with the Meguiar's and then using microfiber pad for spreading it around the painted panel. Let it dwell for 3-5 minutes and evaluate. For me, however, here's how I used the Eagle One product. First, I washed the car, then I decontaminate with Super Clean. Dry, then clay bar entire car (glass included). THEN, after drying, the Eagle One product is applied for chemical decontamination. Rinse car and re-wash, dry, and apply sealant. Worked for me.
@@Milpower you are supposed to use iron removers before using the clay bar. It makes it way easier since it takes the metal particles first and it takes much less time to clay. Besides that your clay bar lasts longer and you are less prone to scratching the paint.
Bought 3 after seeing one of your videos last week (for $5.99 at AutoZone but now they raised it to over $7). Had a Pep Boys 25% off coupon on car cleaning supplies so went and got 3 more for about $5.24 each. Interestingly enough, because of the similar labels, they had it next to other E1 products in a completely different section. Had to sift through the rack to get to the Black /Plasticoat ones.
Scott, great, practical videos. Thanks. Would you consider doing a video on how to take care of a ceramic coated car and also how to safely clean (remove tar and bug splat) from paint protection film? I used the wrong (petroleum based) tar and bug remover and melted the PPF. Would citrol be safe on ceramic coats and PPF?
Scott, I noticed today that Walmart is selling the Black & Plasti-Coat stuff in a new bottle (more triangular in shape than cylindrical), and they say that it's an "improved formula with more foam." The instructions are now bilingual and are a little harder line about the wheel having to be cool to the touch, but the active ingredient is still ammonium sulfanylacetate. Have you checked this out yet? The old stuff worked great on my paint, thanks for the tip!
I never thought to clean my rims. I'm not a car guy. I saw heavy brake dust on my rims today. I've had the car like 5 years, never cleaned the rims. I used Purple Power Extra and it was only like $7 at Auto Zone. Sprayed, scrubbed with a brush, rinsed. Best shit I've ever seen. The only tip I got was to not let it dry on the rim.
4 bottles to the price of one bottle of iron-x, I call that a win! Recently picked up a bottle of nanoskin iron free for $12 on amazon that I've been very happy with, but I'm totally going to try this one next! I've seen this on the shelf before but I didnt think it had any iron removers in it, i thought it was just a regular old wheel cleaner.
@@andrewvaldez8783 even better! I was just comparing purchase price directly against the standard bottle size if each product bit since you get more with the eagle one I'm never going to buy iron x there is literally no reason to when you get similar results lol. You can even go nuts on the amount of product you use and still come out ahead.
Have you ever thought of using awesome I don’t use it in chrome wheels but I spray over the wheels and tires and don’t even really agitate the chemical in there. You can even dilute it for painted wheels
Yep Scott would you make a new video of the mystery product from a few months ago. The one that helps with avoiding water spots? Eagle one 🤔 Buying some this weekend. Thanks Scott.
Just my 2 cents --- would have been better off if he never did that 1st video , not being nice to his subscribers that have been asking him for this cheap solution for a couple months . Why even show us something that just keeps us guessing ? We watch his channel for information , not to be teased .
Really , the fame got to his head. Scott thinks we are below his paygrade. We are just an inconvenience to him. I feel bad for some of the guys who really want the information. Go back to his video and read my comments. That video is very screwy. Scott is not right.
@@justme6256 Im sure many people agree with this statement...I've loved watching him from the beginning because he gives out great info to the common man to accomplish things economically and efficiently...but leaving a cliff hanger like that just seemed like a step backwards...I won't stop watching him...but It just makes us wonder why the sudden teasing? You can't wait to take care of water spots...it's not like you have all the time in the world to let them sit??
@@jamestech2724 , could not have said it better , thanks ! Just doesn't make sense , maybe let people guess for a week to see if they can , but this is crazy waiting this long for something so important !
I understand price point and all...p&b is dilutable like 10 to 1 so I think money wise, its not only cheaper but cleans extremely well. I just get whatever Amazon can ship quicker or whatever the local store has. Either way, imma gonna be agitating and have found most wheel cleaners clean about the same. Especially, using wheel woolies in my cordless drill lol
Question for you Scott.........I live in Canada and a family member spends her winters in Florida............I asked her to buy this product for me but she made a mistake and bought the Eagle One All Wheel & Tire Cleaner Spray version instead of the Black & Plasti-Coat Wheel Cleaner version............I finally found out the one she bought is more appropriate for the kind of rims I own............you said in this video that it can be used on paint............can you confirm I can do the same with the one she bought please? Thanks! :-)
I had about 5 months of brake dust built up on my wheels. Much worse than your example in the video. Picked up a bottle at Walmart for $5, and it worked perfectly. Wheels look like new. Thanks Scott. Would never have purchased this product without your video.
Definitely will be looking out for this now. The 442m wheels on my bmw look great but the barrel has some brake dust stains (presumably from neglect from previous owner) and it's so annoying to clean the wheel face spotless only to still have the stains showing in the barrel clear as day
Thanks again our fearless leader, I picked up all they had at pep boys $5 s online even got a couple bottles of megs on there clearance rack for $ 3 s a piece owe lot all to the man thanks again for sharing
This stuff is a knockout for paint decontamination, it works surprisingly fast and I used it to remove some rust built up in a few rock chips on my hood before repair.
Scott can I do the same thing with dishsoap or car wash shampoo? I think if you scrub it with a brush everything will work. In the barrel can be harder
Genysmen runner if you scrub any wheel for that long I’m pretty sure good old car wash would do just the same i would be more impressed if u sprayed on washed off
Wally World has the blue and yellow one for “Black & Plasti-Coat,” but they also have the blue one orange one for “All Wheel & Tire.” Scott, are these the same product, basically? They’re both ph-neutral, but marketed slightly different. Thanks!
Scott, so this EagleOne wheel cleaner is completely acid-free..? Is it safe for Alloy wheels (that's what I have)? It didn't appear to do much foaming in the video..? Thanks for your time.
Scott, if do not have running water how much water is required to safely flush the product off? Looking for something to use as waterless or rinseless for limited mobile auto detailing. I do like the Eagle One wheel products.
I used this and Sonax (expensive) iron removers on CRV rims and had to agitate with a drill brush for it to just start lifting. Probably baked on the rim for several years. No way would it come off with a “detail” brush that easy. 🤣
You call that dirty? I buy cars to resell them. I don't think that will work on these certain vehicles. Ten times more dirty than that one. But I'll try it.
I can clean brake dust, Im still waiting on the removing/preventing water spot secret. Scott, how long do we have to wait!!?? Ok guys I will tell yall how to remove the toughest water spot. Meguiars Ultimate Compound....Ive used it many times to remove tough water spots. I don't think it says it on the bottle, but a couple years ago a Meguiars customer serv guy told me about it. IT WORKS and that aint a secret.
IVE BEEN USING THAT HOTRIMS WHEEL CLEANER , NOW IT IS EATING THE FINISH OFF MY RIMS I WOULD ADVISE ANYBODY USING THAT PRODUCT OR (PRODUCTS) IN THAT LINE TO USE CAUTION WHEN USING , YEAH IT"LL CLEAN ,BUT IS THAT WHAT YOU REALLY WANT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT?? I THINK I WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF TO NOT EVEN CLEAN MY RIMS "EVER"!!!! THANKS ALOT MEGUIARS!!!
You should rinse out the brush after working on1/3 of the wheel. Never re-brush without doing so, because you are just moving dirt back to the surface.
That's silly. The chemical is doing the work, the brush just speeds up the process and spreads it more evenly. Even if the brush moves some contaminants from one area to another, it's not going to magically re-bond to the surface, and will come off when the rim is rinsed with water.
LOL. Exactly my thoughts. Anything that comes of by brushing it off will come off with any cleaner. The real caked on stuff literally need something just short of using sanding paper.
I clay barred my car today and have left light swirl marks everywhere; do you have any polish in particular that you think works best for swirl marks/clay bar marring?
Dallas cool clean wheel!!! I like the SPITZ,SPITZ,SPITZ,SPITZ NOISE!!!! lol!!!! can you do it again.. just kidding!!!! MY TRUCK IS LIKE YOUR WHEEL. NASTY.....GOING TO WALMART.. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS !!!!! KEEP ON CLEANING DALLAS!!!!!!
@@BASSstarlet you can use that one or the number 04303410. I tried both and the results were same. The only difference is the smell, so Get the cheaper one. Where do you live?
That’s the worst wheel you’ve seen in a while?? Hahahaha sir, come to upstate NY and detail with me. The cars that are routinely cleaned are much worse then this car. You would not be able to hang up here lol. Appreciate the video
Bees Landscaping You were probably one of the kids that asked the teacher what they had to do on the test when it was clearly written in the instructions.
If that wheel was not cleaned in over a year it would be immposible to remove dirt and tar and all that junk that easy.. In 12 months dirt litteraly glues to wheel and there is no easy solution for cleaning it..
