exactly i work on pipers cessna’s, sky masters and the machine screw nut plates will strip so easily especially if they’re painted over, what i do it drill a 1/16 hole sideways just a little into the screw head where ever you strip it and stick a pick in there and try to spin it, its not always easy though when you’re so worried about paint
You know if you use the right sized Philip head bit and actually put some strength into it you could get it out without stripping the absolute fuck out of it.
@@kap1526 I’m a carpenter and a metal worker, and I’ve literally never seen someone unintentionally strip a bolt or screw this badly, literally never, out of decades of work. And your telling me not everyone purposefully uses the right sized Phillip head? Your an idiot.
what if i just want to drill the screw head off? what do i use for that? i dont give the slightest fuck about removing the screw just want to take the decking off.
Absolutely agree. If you use an impact gun and you are careful, you never need to strip screws in the first place. Sometimes screw heads fill up with dust or paint, just use another screw tip to scratch out the paint or use a vaccuum to remove dust. Okay, so if the screw is already stripped (e.g. by someone else) then yeh - you need to solve the problem. I've used these bits before, they are rubbish...
Hard to tell the original installer to turn back time. This thing helps when you're fixing shit or taking stuff down and you run into one. I love these bits when i get to use them
