Thinking of doing something similar than walling it in, do you have any more videos on what you did with the room?

Unfortunately I don’t have any video of the build, and I’m not sure why honestly.

I was just talking about doing this. Leaving my roof up and taking out the cheap sunroom walls. I have a raised porch that it sits upon. I don't see any support beams though, almost liknth walls are holding it up. I don't know. I'll figure it out.

The walls may be holding up the roof, it depends on how it was built…good luck!

@@MyDIYAdventures I do think that is the case. I'd have to put posts first. I'd have to remove the aluminum ceiling that is in there too, looks like shiplap, to see the frame to know where to put everything.

Nice! I did a porch on an old house that had a block foundation too, it was actually the old coal chute for the furnace under the porch.

We are attempting to do the same thing, take the walls down but leave the roof. However, there are outlets, switches and two flood lights to deal with. How would you deal with the electrical. Also, we aren’t sure if there are support post there or if the walls are actually holding the roof up. The video ended before we could see why you took the support post down, why did you do that?
@MyDIYAdventures
@MyDIYAdventures 3 года назад
The posts came out because it got all new walls framed up under the roof. Usually on something like this, if I run into electrical, I would just cut it out of the way and let the electricians run new wire for any new fixtures the room would be getting.

What did you replace the posts with?
@MyDIYAdventures
@MyDIYAdventures 3 года назад
The whole roof had walls built underneath and turned into an actual insulated and heated room.

@@MyDIYAdventures ahhhhh got it. I’m helping my friend Reno her sunroom, so I can just leave her posts up after removal of the windows etc ?
@MyDIYAdventures
@MyDIYAdventures 3 года назад
It all depends on how it is built, and what your local building codes require, but I have done that before also👍

I am getting ready to so the same thing how much should this project cost? 20x10
@MyDIYAdventures
@MyDIYAdventures 3 года назад
I honestly don’t know what the cost was, I was just the labor for the contractor. There was a whole new concrete slab and footer poured, and it was finished as a full room as part of the house. Is that what you are planning?
@eamonndegraaf9080
@eamonndegraaf9080 3 года назад
Ya removing same stuff and building a finished room on the existing slab.
@MyDIYAdventures
@MyDIYAdventures 3 года назад
Using the existing slab should be a huge savings for you, but sorry I don’t have solid numbers on the cost.
