Anybody like honey? If so, you are going to be drooling watching this video. We removed some gorgeous sections of honey comb weighing between 8 and 10 pounds each, all capped and ready to go......in my ice chest.
Our greatest challenge on this removal was the space we were working in, there was only 3 feet of ceiling height to remove the hive. Now that may seem to be a lot of room, but the difficulty comes in when removing the comb, you have no angle to get to it other than straight on. I think another one of the requirements of being a bee wrangler is you have to be a contortionist and you are able to put your body in the most uncomfortable position to be able to work the weirdest angles to remove comb. By the end of the day EVERY part of my body had an ache in it. Granted, I'm no young whipper snapper, but I'm sure even if I was, I'd have felt this one.
Still, by the grace of God, we managed to get the job complete and the bees relocated to the abbey. Again, Charlie shot some great video and was invaluable hauling our equipment back and forth for this job. Yep, both of us missed Wreck it Ralph, but he will be with us on the next adventure.
