I guess it was about 2 months old based on the hatched and capped brood that was in there. The duck box will be done in the fall, when the weather cools down a lot and we are in another nectar flow. As the bee vac is specially designed not to harm bees, almost all professional bee removers use them as it is safe and efficient. Not to say it is absolutely necessary to use one, I have done dozens of removals without them, but there is nothing bad about them at all. It is simply a personal choice. No it does not. The bee vac is designed with a very low suction so it will not harm the bees or anything else in the hive. It’s like a huge weight is lifted off your shoulders!.Sadly I lost all 3 of my hives 2 years ago due to yellow jackets robbing! Pesky devils! But I am always on the look out for swarms.
