6 extra steps You won't see the NEW Drive after you power the system up until you configure the new internal memory HD. 6 extra steps needed to configure the Added Hard Drive after the physical equipment installation. What I did was add an additional internal HD for more Memory, and kept the factory HD. I bought a 4TB WD Blue, and SATA cord for my HP Omen 870-244. I gently used needle nose pliers to plug the SATA cord into the mother-board. I couldn't get my large fingers back there but you might. Easy plug and play but you still have to configure the new Hard Drive for the OP system to recognize. 6 Extra Steps. 1. PRESS: Windows Key and (r) key 2. Type: diskmgmt.msc when box opens 3. Click on new drive when box opens 4. Right Click on "unallocated" graph looking bar 5. Click: New Simple Volume 6. Follow wizard instruction; NEXT

I am trying to install a 2.5 inch ssd but the Philips #2 are to big to fit into the holes on the belly of the ssd.

hey guys so at the top of the desktop there is this place where u can open it and there's space for 2 hdd's. if i buy a new hdd can I just slide them in there and it will work? im a little confused

Can a third internal HDD be installed in the empty space under the existing two that are shown in the video? Are there enough power connectors on the PSU and SATA ports on the mother board to do this?

I have this same computer, but the front top part that should open easily Dosent open at all. I was wondering if there were models made where you couldn't open that dual harddrive slot on top.

By primary do you mean boot drive? I plan to add a 2.5in SSD as my boot but the current hard drive is installed in the bottom bay.

Is there any way of removing the entire inner bottom hard drive rack? My reason of wanting to remove it is to improve air flow since the rack is right in front of the front fan. Thanks.

+Randy Torres According to the layout of your motherboard, SATA HD/SSDs would connect to an empty SATA port. You can purchase a data cable from your local PC store (Best Buy, Micro PC, Frys etc.).. The drive bay is provisioned to support three hard drives.

It can be placed on top but the cable that is connected by default goes to SATA 1 port which is the default booting option, you can switch the data cable to choose which disk you want to start.

+Sillysoft If you are removing a 2.5 inch SSD internal hard drive, detach the four Philips #2 screws securing the 2.5 inch drive to the internal hard drive placeholder. Pull the drive out of the placeholder. Please refer this document for more information: bitly.com/2NaMTJs
