Thanks for this great video showcasing the dissasembly process of all the parts in this system, with this i was able to upgrade my Motherboard to the Rog Strix B660-G (just had to dremel the IO cutout in the back) alongside an Intel i7-12700K + RTX 3060Ti + 32GB DDR5 (5600) RAM. The only thing i had to order is a longer power switch cable + USB-C front IO cable since the one in the system was to short for this specific new motherboard of mine

@@SubstanceD91 yes you can put a new board, it has to be mATX (micro ATX), 24x24x24 cm. I replaced it a month ago. BUT this chasis makes it impossible to change it because the plate where the holes where the connections go, is soldered (12:56) and the only way to change the board is to cut that part. I made it a month ago and it is ok. I explained it in a comment I made recently in this video.

TO ALL THINKING OF UPGRADING THIS PC: YOU CANNOT UPGRADE THE HIGOS MOTHERBOARD: this case was specifically designed for Higos, and has custom connectors from the chassis which only fit the Higos. On top of this, the back panel of the chassis does not come out and has been fused into the metal, so unless you want to get out a metal saw and incinerate the back, before finding out the first point was also another problem, please sell this PC asap and buy a new chassis to build in, because it is impossible to upgrade the 880's motherboard.

got a few things to say: The back panel, where the usb connectors, hdmi, etc. of the chasis is bonded/soldered with the entire chasis (12:56), so when I bought all the new parts to upgrade my PC I got a big surprise... I had to use a drill and a saw to break and cut that part of the chasis so my new motherboard fit in. Surprisingly, it didn't look too bad to be honest. Another thing that is quite serious is the fact that many connectors on the Higos2 board, from HP, are perfectly made for the chassis and its other parts. Let me explain. The Higos / Higos2 board has on the top right side the connector to turn off and turn on the PC, so the power button to turn off and turn on the pc is at the top (26:46), and JUST this cable is too short (26:42), it measures less than 10cm, and my new motherboard has that connector at the bottom, way down, so from now on I have to use a screwdriver to bridge and turn on the PC, touching the two pins of the board to turn on the PC. Another thing is the LED lights or the front "rgb" lights, which on my PC model are only red, have a connector that I have no idea what it is called (42:06), but my new board doesn't have them anywhere, so my PC red lights will simply never light up again and I don't know if there is enough space to connect some rgb over there, but this for me is not so important really. By the way, ALL the front panel connections (22:35) were rendered unusable: the two USB, the two USB-C, the headphone jack, the microphone and the card reader. The cables of the Higos2 board, again, are so just and short that I literally could not connect them to the new board and the yellow connector of the Higos2 board (24:12 and 55:09) that is called something like "HD AUDIO" (or I don't remember how), which are the ones that precisely make the front headphone and microphone ports work as well, my board does not have it, so yes; all the front connectors of my PC are now useless to me. However, I can use the ones on the new board; the back ones. Only there I don't have USB-C inputs, but headphones, microphone and USB like keyboard, mouse and controllers, usb or whatever, I have to connect them in the back. This really isn't much of a problem for me, but I won't deny that it was VERY comfortable and easy to use all of this on the front ports. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but the back fan, the one that draws air to the outside, is 90mm (9cm), but its architecture is 120mm (12cm) (11:09). I do not know if I explain; this fan looks like 120mm, but it is actually 90mm, taking up unnecessary space that actually HAS to be used with a 120mm fan. (49:32). Personally I think it's because the air intake should be more than the air output, to generate a good air flow. By the way, these fans are really quiet, but when forced or set to go at high speeds by some software, they are too loud. Seriously. So yes, you can adapt everything to this chassis, but I really recommend buying another one. Honestly I really like the design of this chassis, because it is not the typical square one that everyone has and that EVERY company makes. I decided to keep it and now with the new board and new parts it works perfectly. Maybe the cooling could be a problem, because it only has one fan that takes air to the interior, and one to draw air, (39:48) and honestly it seems to me very little to ventilate all its parts, but meh, ok. Again, I recommend buying another chassis, but this one can be adapted to new parts and works ok. I still have more things to say about this PC after having used it since April 2019 until almost a month ago and having already changed the board, processor, heatsink, graphic card, power supply and a fan. If you have any questions on how to modify its parts or the PC in general you can ask me, although I think that this model is no longer available. Anyway, I'll keep an eye out if anyone needs help. DISCLAIMER: I don't know if the power supply and its connectors are made SPECIFICALLY for that motherboard. I would think so, but I´m not sure. So I would think that if you use that power supply with another board, or visceversa, it may cause a serious problem. However, if you are going to change the power supply or the board, I would recommend changing both, to avoid any specific connection made by HP causing problems. Edit: +4 years later I realized that this chasis can support 2 fans to draw air (45:24). But in the upper part you can only use a 9cm (90mm) fan. I tried to put a 120mm fan, but it doesn't fit.

Good day. A few months ago I bought a used motherboard from an HP Omen PC very cheaply, including RAM. CPU i5 8400 and CPU cooler. I previously had an i5 2nd generation and a motherboard DDR3 Ram, so an upgrade for my case. I have everything connected, but two ports seem to need special connectors. For USB 2.0 there is a 19-pin connector on the top right of the motherboard below USB Power, but I only have a 9-pin USB connector available from the case, so I probably found an adapter for that on the internet. (SinLoon USB 2.0, 9-pin case, reversible to motherboard, USB 3.0, 19-pin header socket, adapter, reversible USB adapter for data transfer (9-pin plug), what do you think, is this the right adapter? For the I only found an adapter 13 pin to 9 pin for the Audi connection, but the Audi connection on the mainboard is an 11 pin connection and I haven't found an adapter for that yet. Do you know where I can look? Thank you for your attention. I have one A low budget PC assembled with used or gifted parts. Works very well and I am very satisfied, even though I don't have audio on the front panel and no USB 2.0, 3.0 USB on the front header works perfectly. I wish you a nice day and Have fun with your PC, best regards.

@@walterkovacs396 yes it should work propertly. In general, USB connectors and headers are standardized to ensure compatibility across different manufacturers and models. So the adapter will work. About the audio port, I haven't found an adapter or cable that works for me either. So I'll leave it like that probably forever haha. Anyway, you can get an extension for your headphones that splits into two jacks to plug into the back of the case. That's how I use it myself, the sound quality doesn't change.

to answer your question, since HP Feeds out useless copy paste answers, no, you cannot put in any other motherboard because this case was specifically designed for Higos, and has custom connectors from the chassis which only fit the Higos. On top of this, the back panel of the chassis does not come out, so unless you want to get out a metal saw and incinerate the back, before finding out the first point was also another problem, please sell this PC asap and buy a new chassis to build in, because it is impossible to upgrade the 880's motherboard.
