No smog inspection in my state No vehicle inspections If China and India can build 4 new coal fired electric plants per year My trucks exhausts is a drop in the ocean Guess what im gonna do this weekend 😂
I have a car that I have driven for years without a cat on it, and in different states in the state with testing I paid for a passing sticker, now I live in a state that doesn’t test vehicles at all.
In my state, cars that are at least 25 years old don't have to test for emissions, and my car will be 25 next year. Green regulations are just another one of the system's moneymaking scams. The earth made it through the age of steam perfectly fine.
i removed the cats in my 370z and replaced them with straight pipes which still have slots for the 02 sensors. My engine threw a check engine light, but after a tune, the light was gone. The car is quite a bit louder, and makes a bit more power. I live in BC Canada, which we don't have checks on our vehicles. But potentially could receive a vehicle inspection from a law enforcement officer if they believed it to be too loud.
hi...im in BC too. How much should i expect to pay to have a muffler shop remove my Cat and straight pipe it? I'm thinking i keep my original muffler or add a universal quiet type muffler. 06 Nissan Xtrail /4 cyl.
@@sitofromdawest1575 About a year. Then a week after installing CAI I got the tune. Its when you change both intake and exhaust when you need a tune. With just the cats the stock ecu can adjust properly.
@@kieferj8058 ...my Xtrail 4 cyl 2.5L engine is basically the same as in the Nissan Altima. I watched a few videos on instead of Cat removal, they cut a ''door ''into the cat , peel it back and remove the honey comb innards. Then weld it shut. So the Cat. can be left up in place if done this way. My stock muffler is still in decent shape, but maybe i get a new budget universal replacement that is not loud/ricey. The Xtrail was only for sale in Canada from 2003-08, weird/hard vehicle to track down parts, even from Rockauto. Good awd suv for what it is, but my next used suv will be a toyota for the peace of mind when it comes to searching for parts, availability, price, install etc. Do you live in the metro Vancouver area and if so, can you suggest a few muffler shops that are trustworthy and do not gouge ?
Hell yeah screw them, mine neighbors called the cops because my music was slightly loud and they told them I was out here shooting a weapon, they going to hate me now
On a 2000 Toyota Avalon with 1mz engine at 188k miles. I think this car has 2? Will it be loud if deleted? Will it perform better if removed? Will I have tuning issues if removed? How to remove? I have tag and insurance but car will driven on a 2000 acre private property for security surveillance so following DOT rules won't apply to private land? Will having a check engine light on get in the way of knowing their are other issues with the car? Is there a way to fool the ECM? Someone help me. Thanks (what was that wire screen the guy reinstalled in the video??)
Okay had to make another comment. I think you should do some more research buddy. Cause again in my state it's 100 percent legal to operate a motor vehicle without a cadilitic converter but you must have a muffler or face paying a fine
Cons: all I hear is illegal, illegal and illegal. No mechanical drawbacks Pros: engine breathes better, increased performance and improved fuel economy. Well I leave in Africa. No country has a law on catalytic converter. Not mandatory.
I have a 96 ford ranger and removed the cat and now my engine idle surges all the time. Any ideas??? Replaced the idle air control motor and TPS. And the crazy thing is the AC will work only when OD is turned off.
Will removing my cat mess with my turbocharger? I’m getting low boost and believe my cat is clogged after I check it if it is will removing it solve the issue or should I replace it?
If the turbo is stock from factory, you will need yo tune or remap your ecu after deleting cat, proper air ratio is important for performance and fuel efficiency,
Even if you discount the added back pressure of the catalytic converter, the benefits of way lower under hood temp are great. Especially those vehicles that have the catalytic converter close to the engine and under hood rather than under the car. Jeep JK is one of many with this flaw. Side note-I hope I never find myself sitting in a prison cell with Leroy, who's in for murder, asks-"what are you in for bud?" and my replay is-"I deleted my catalytic converter from my daily driver and Newsom had me arrested."
North Carolina Law specifically here: § 14-164.1. Possession of catalytic converter removed from a motor vehicle. Unless the conduct is covered under some other provision of law providing greater punishment, knowingly possessing a catalytic converter that has been removed from a motor vehicle is a Class I felony unless the person in possession is any of the following: (Blah, Blah, Blah) - An individual who possesses vehicle registration documentation indicating that the catalytic converter in the individual's possession is from a vehicle registered in that individual's name --> and is or will be replaced with another legally obtained catalytic converter.
Its a federal law. If you live where there is no emissions check, you wont be noticed. You will gain a few ponies and maybe mileage. At the cost of dirtier air. Your call
Experience from removing catalytic converter is contrary to your teachings, in fact the vehicle will loose power and smooth flow, also will make some funny noise.
I know someone here in California who had his catalytic converter removed - some idiot told him he could find a place that will pass the smog for him. 🤦🏼♀️ He didn’t register his stupid car because he knew it wouldn’t pass the smog. He got pulled over & now the car is collecting dust at an impound yard. This person I know made a very stupid decision, including his car is so f-ing loud & annoying. 😵💫
In modern cars there are only disadvantages to removing the cat. Even if you have a hard on for removing it there are high flow cats that the OEM one can be replaced with. Know what you’re talking about before encouraging people to potentially irreversible damage to their vehicle.
@@fortheloveofnoiseall factory parts of an exhaust system are necessary for the proper operation of the engine. Any modifications will shorten the lifespan of other components of the drivetrain. Short answer. Yes even your Sentra.
So this video of the pros and cons of removing the catalytic converter and installing a straight sound something like this: Pros: *Engine runs cooler *better gas mileage *more horsepower Cons: *Hands will be sore from all the high fiving with your buddies when you roll it catless for the first time *ear damage from every one screaming at you how badass your new mod is *too much Ecstasy fromy the elation of pissing off the pussy hippies with your maximum pollution sick ride
