I was secretly hoping the bolt wouldn’t budge so I could see him bust out some of his tricks

Jeez why can’t Australian diesel mechanics in the mines do this? They cry and complain that this is a boilermakers job. Good work brother, a competent mechanic

Anyone know exactly how much a “schwack load” of time would be?
@JustAnotherGuyInTheComments
@JustAnotherGuyInTheComments 2 года назад
Hours. Many hours. The escalation usually is: hammer and chisel, then weld a nut on it, then drill it out and hope you didn't screw up the threads. If you did, then you have to drill it out and retap for a larger bolt. Of course, this is all application depending.

Lh drill bits are the first thing I grab. Loose bolts like you had would of walked right out with a drill

I have a small set of left hand bits, don't use them often. I still prefer a quick tap with the chisel vs breaking bits out. To each their own, whatever gets the job done!
