Removing exhaust on 2015 chevy duramax for dpf cleaning

Thanks buddy, i laughed when i was looking for a video in how to drop it and the guys were cutting the exhaust and decided to put my own up after trying a bunch of stuff and figuring this out.

@@whyisthissodifficult6965 I tried it like you've got it, went even further and disconnected the shock, and stabilizer bar, and rear fuel tank ( I've got a cab/chassis 3500 with a service bed) and still can't get clearance lol..

I didn't realize the lack of videos on this. Im going to do a video this week showing the actual removal of the exhaust and the cleaning process. It's easier than you'll expect, you got this dude. After cleaning the exhaust drive your truck in manual mode and run the rpms real hot for a good 5 min. You'll hear it when it clears the gunk out, it'll roar back to life and sound nice and smooth.

I had the exact same thought, these dang engineers dont think of the people that have to work on these things and dont put simple access ports to make this a 5 min job instead of the nightmare they created. I have some advice on this and can make your life alot easier. I'm going to make a video real quick and if you need some help on how to tackle this beast I'll walk you through it. Cleaning can be done by yourself and solve with some life hacks/matrix cheat codes.

Your right about the dpf video, I've been slammed with other projects (the ranch house video might show a glimpse of some of the stuff we do). "Liquid Molly" makes a great cleaner, purger, and fuel tank purge additive, get all 3. Remove the exhaust sensors and spray the 2 cleaners in all holes ( you can probably cheap out on their cleaner bottle and use a bug sprayer but you'll have to get creative). After hook up a obd scanner you can spam the "clear codes button" with, put it in manaul mode and red line that sucker for a good 10min and it will be obvious when your truck spits out a cloud of trash and unclogs the filter. Dont even need to remove the exhaust.

I put vinegar in a bug sprayer and hit all the sensor ports and insides. Then power washed it, dumped all the water and slapped it back in. Put it manual 1st and gave it heck, thew cload of coal qnd cleared right up.

I know that moisture does get into exhaust (hence the dripping water when you warm up your truck in the winter). I know vinegar helps to break down soot as well. I have a video on running the cleaner that doesn't require dropping the exhaust as is really quick and easy. I run the cleaner through the sensor holes twice a year. Boosts gas mileage and ensures younstay out of limp mode. If you click my channel or punch in "chevy service exhaust limp mode" I think its called and I show how to clean it.
