You appear to be attempting to clean the SCR and not the DPF. The injector you removed is the DEF doser. You should have steamed off the crystalline formations while you had it off.

Hey Chris, I'm having problems like this with my 2018 Ram 1500 ecodiesel. And the shop said that It's not breathing. Do you have any suggestions?

@@jamesBassMan81 the description of, “not breathing” could be the DPF filter not burning off, or the SCR catalyst not burning off. Both or either of these issues could be described as not breathing, in my opinion. The DEF doser is easy to remove and clean, if you suspect it may be clogged. A clogged doser could lead to poor SCR cleaning, causing the SCR to “not breathe.” There are plenty of RU-vid videos with different ways to clean the doser and it’s mounting perimeter. It’s free, and can be done within 20mins in a driveway.

@@jamesBassMan81 this video is also using a DPF cleaner in the SCR. I don’t know if I can recommend these actions, being the DPF filter captures soot. The SCR captures the Regen burn off of that soot, and uses DEF to convert to N2 and H2O. Of course, I am nothing more than a shade tree truck owner.

Thanks, Chris. I did a manual regen, but it has an SCR filter code, but it's drivable until I take it to the shop Tuesday.

That's not the dpf... that is the def injector. The dpf is the can welded on the other end of that flex pipe, upstream of the tube you sprayed

@@keithm8715The Liquid moly web site says take out def injector to squirt in there. I like you thought that's not going to clean the dpf. The scr maybe. 👍

Yeah you went the wrong side of the dpf for the additive to actually do it’s job

Could this be done on a Ford f350 2014? The dpf filter is completely clogged, and the truck starts, but after one minute, it turns off.

That is not the DPF filter ,DPF filter is between exhaust manifold and where there putting the fluid

Stupid is as stupid does you sprayed SCR not the DPF. If your going to share something maybe you should know what your doing first DO NOT DO WHAT THIS GUY IS CLUELESSLY DOING HE DID NOTHING TO THE DPF!

Do not trust this guy. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. At the end when he points at the gauges he says one is the oil temp and the other the coolant temp - it is actually the oil PRESSURE not temp, and the other is the TRANSMISSION temp.
