So yeah I tried to be a responsible adult for once and not use bleach on my hair so it wouldn't snap in half. But turns out I can't do anything right and ruined it with baking soda and developer anyways lol.

Crystal Lindy I’ve found with baking soda you HAVE to use apple cider vinegar rinse on it after it’s done. It seals up the cuticles back again and makes your hair smooth and not as damaged. I’ve used the baking soda method multiple times and it goes so dry and disgusting unless you apple cider vinegar it because it restores the ph of your hair

When my hair was more damaged I used to use warm olive oil on my hair. I still do it when I feel it needs a bit of love. It was a hairdresser to told me to do it, saying it was way better than coconut oil. I warm it for like 5sec in the microwave, always careful for it to not be too hot, put it all over my hair (minus the roots of course), and leave it for a few hours. Then wash it well, shampooing it 3 times if needed and it does wonders. It doesn't make the hair yellow or orange and it just leaves it soft and smooth

If you put a basic thing like baking soda in an acidic thing like dish soap and vitamin C (wich both probably had parts of lemon or orange just for smelling and tasting better) it would react and make foam :D I love your contents, though, you're the bravest!

The acid in the vitamin c tablets reacted with the base from the baking soda which basically means that she was just putting salty foamy water on her hair

U can make a bleach bath wich consists on adding bleach mixed with water and shampoo and in that way its not so damaging to the hair and it works

There are a lot of things that will kill your hair that is not bleach! In fact a lot of ppl have kinda relaxed their hair turning it gummy with baking soda, but I see ppl always telling others to slap it on your head and face willy nilly. You have to study for a year to be a cosmetologist for a reason, there are a lot a lot A LOT of chemicals!

I did this a couple weeks ago... Same result. It faded but my hair was DRY! I did back to back conditioning treatments and my hair bounced right back in 2 days. Now it feels better than ever 😊

Yeah or what I just did was section 2 pieces at the back of my head (healthier and more resistant hair) and bleach them. Now I can have fun with those 2 (because god knows I get easily bored with my hair), while maintaining the rest healthy and hopefully attaining that waist length 🤷🏽‍♀️

I've done the peroxide method as well and it literally killed my hair. I had clumps falling out and my hair was *SOOOO* weak it kept breaking off. So guys, don't do it. I know Lindy said don't do it but I am also saying don't do it. In the video I watched of how to do it, the girl said it won't damage your hair cause its just the peroxide and not the bleach. YALL THAT AINT TRUE! Peroxide can also damage your hair. It lifts. Thats why even Brad Mondo says to use lower volume peroxide/developer when bleaching. The peroxide activates the bleach, yes, but it also helps lift your hair. The higher the volume, the stronger the lift and the more damage is done to your hair. The woman in the video even claimed to be a hairdresser which is insane to me because a hairdresser should damn well know that developer also does damage.

@@bluejay8422 it does though. It damages just as much as bleach does. Bleach powder itself does nothing, add peroxide and it'll kill your hair if you're not a progessional or know what you're doing. I went to my hairdresser not long after I fucked my hair up to get a trim and she told me point blank that I was misinformed to think peroxide doesn't damage hair. It does, and the fact that someone who is a professional is out here claiming it doesn't do anything to damage the integrity of your hair is so so wrong...

It most definitely would have worked if you didn’t add purple shampoo as it is drying & more damaging. IVE USED THIS METHOD MINUS THE PURPLE SHAMPOO AND IT WORKED GREAAATTTT WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE. It is best to use either dish soap or dandruff shampoo with the baking soda developer method 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

i SWEAR by the maui hair masks! they make my hair incredibly healthy and helps it grow faster! it’s been my favourite product for over a year now!!! it helped me soooo much!! everyone i’ve recommended the product too they also have said that they have had amazing results !!! you should defiantly consider trying it out. it’s drugstore and cheap, it lasts a long time, and makes your hair feel amazing !!

I really like Yves-Rocher hair products for damaged hair, the line is called “reparation”. They have shampoo, conditioner and mask. My hair is white and I use purple shampoo that is drying, but somehow my hair still feels like hair. lindy have you ever tried braziilian hair repair products ? we have all types of hair here, so maybe some would help you repair the damaged parts. Try to look over the internet for "Lola" Products. It's a brazilian brand. There also some other as Bioextratus and Skala. Skala is the cheapest one but it worked pretty well for me.

The reason it feels so dry is because the concoction you used both times stripped all oils and hair products that you had built up off. They're all gone, which means you need to start over. Give it a couple of weeks and wash less, it'll feel great in no time.

when i dyed my hair purple and it washed out i removed the color with a mix of shampoo and bleach powder, and added some coconut oil, it worked really well and didn't damaged my hair at all because it didn't have any peroxide on it, maybe you should give it a try

Hey Lindy! I’m in the process of going from black to blonde, I use lots of Olaplex but also suggest a pure protein spray - I use Redken Extreme CAT Protein Reconstructing Hair Treatment Spray. It’s a big process but eventually it comes back to life xx

When I've done any of these, I've literally massaged the concoction into the colored areas into a lather and removed suds with my fingers and kept repeating until I could see the color gone

What has really helped my hair was to stop washing it. If I’m staying home, I’ll go the most days I can without washing it. Coconut oil has helped me throughout the years to deeply condition it. If you feel like I would recommend getting a keratina treatment, it works wonders.

Thank you for being our guinea pig! Unfortunately, there is not always good advice on the internet, and so a simple bleach bath can still be better for your hair than such concoctions published by hobbyists. Yes, it might remove semipermanent fashion hair colours, but it might also fry your hair. Luckily, your hair is already dead, and so this is only a cosmetic problem and the natural structure of your hair might be severely damaged. Yes, it does not look and feel that nice, but if you know how to style your hair you can still trick other people to think you are keeping control of your hair care.

I used baking soda to fade my hair before and my hair went so dry just like yours! I rinsed my hair with vinegar (sounds gross and kinda is gross) but it returned my hair back to being soft and normal feeling! Maybe something like lemon juice would be less gross and still work because it’s acidic? I’m not sure tho!

I’m warning y’all: I did the baking soda and developer method. I had bleached my hair ONCE ever and parts of my hair fell out to the scalp while I was trying to remove Arctic fox blue hair dye. Don’t do it!!!

I also did this method once and I had blue hair and I read that it doesnt remove greens and blues as much from the hair and my hair basically turned more green because the yellow from my hair stayed. And my hair also felt kinda shit afterwards so the least damaging thing for my hair so far was bleach wash :)

use coconut+olive oil in your hair and let it sit for at least 6 hours. rinse out with petrolate/silicone free conditioner (do it once a week) I've done this method a lot when my hair was really damaged and worked :) specially for bleached hair

I did an at home hair mask that made my hair feel so good and lasted a while. Put flax seeds in a stocking and soak for a while, strain, and that water should feel kinda jelly..y and gross. Mix in some coconut oil and mask it up! Sit for a while an rinse shampoo conditioner ect 😘😘

I agree with you, I tried the baking soda treatment and my hair is still very dry and it feels squeaky clean. It did lift out the color, but no matter how much oil I put on it, it still feels very dry. Don’t know how long it will take to get it back to normal

when i did the baking soda method it literally destroyed my hair even worse than a bleach bath ever would have. It was like it was over processed with bleach and i had only left it in for maybe 10 mins. My hair was so gummy and never ever dried when i showered even when i blow dried it and i could never brush it so i ended up cutting my rib length hair to above my shoulders :-)

I had the same problem and damage to my hair. I put Moroccan oil in my hair and tied it up for a couple of days and washed it out. Did this once a week for a while and now my hair is very conditioned and soft xx

Try all the Kevin Murphy products, especially the Re.Store in combination with the Re.Pair Me Wash and Re.Pair Me Rinse. Also the R&B creme by Lush is a real hair saver. Use it as a finish on dry hair. These are my very damaged hair helpers.

A easier way to remove hair color is, You would need a bowl,baking soda ,and 20 volume developer and shampoo 1) get the bowl and put as much shampoo in it you think you'll need to get all of your hair covered 2)put a small/medium amout of baking soda in the bowl and the same amount of Devloper as the baking soda (its easier to use tablespoons to make sure amount is the same for both) 3) mix the stuff in the bowl up and before you put it on your hair you should get it wet with warm water 4) put on your wet hair for 30 minutes and wrap your hair up to keep the heat in for it to work better then rinse out ( I've done this many times and the color will drip out usually two times of doing this gets most of it out)

Did you do an apple cider vinegar rinse after being done? I’ve used the methtod lots of times but unless you reseal and rebalance the PH of your hair with apple cider vinegar (because baking soda and developer are extremely alkaline that’s why they frizz up and open up your hair) it will look and feel vile.

so i had bright blue hair, to get it out i put orange dye on it to neutralise it and then used a concoction of baking soda, 10 vol developer, purple shampoo and some dish soap (which doesn't do anything except help the mixture lather on your head) and yes it dries your hair out temporarily but for me my hair returned to normal after using blondpro (which is like olaplex) and kevin murphy restore, which is another treatment.

HOLY SHIT.... I DID THE SAME TO REMOVE BAD BLUE (ASH) TONER!!!!! I even got chemical cut but THANKFULLY in just few hairs...... But I least got the color out and my hair is still in my head....looking fairly decent. I'm so happy to have such strong hair

I use the baking soda treatment on my hair when I wanna change colors and my hair is always fine, it’s so weird how it works for some people and not on others (I have REALLYYYY THICK hair and a lot of hair so that may be why)

To strip the dye out of your hair bleach free use: Pravana artificial hair color extractor it has part A and B to mix. It doesn’t damage your hair at all and does nothing to natural growth it just removes the dye! It worked wonders on my hair when I tried to remove red out of my hair and we all know how difficult it is to remove red

Soak your hair in coconut oil for 1 hour (use high quality cause it will fade some of the color!), and then put shampoo + bleach powder (no developer!) on your hair for 45 min - 1 hour. This stuff works like a charm even on blue hair !

You should use ApHogeeor , Jamaican black castor oil really works good I recommend it ☺️👌🏻 helps me out a lot

What developer does is opens the hair up, so using a mixture with developer can still be somewhat damaging to the hair

You said not to do the baking soda thing and I did it anyway and my Hair fried so much more than bleach ever did !!! Was better off bleaching for sure !!

i did everything you just did(except baking soda in the first try) in like highschool, now 4 years later, i let all that dead, broom feeling hair grow out, just to go back to doing stuff like this again🙃
