1991 ford f250 had too tight of area to get a wrench down on the glow plug threads. Found a nut just large enough to go over the glow plug and used something to push against the nut while turning the glow plug with impact or air ratchet. It worked great on getting the 4 glow plugs out that were swollen.
Thanks bro! Very creative really appreciate the input. Now gotta rip these autolites off my truck. Good thing I read about them before actually putting on miles.
I'll be trying this on my Mercedes C-Class in the next few days - I have the same problem as you described with your vehicle. Thanks for the great tip..we'' see if it comes good!
Can the glow plug 8 failing cause the truck to run rough when it is at operating temperature? I have no throttle response and engine has reduced power. Please help I’m tired of getting stranded
Een worse.. same motor,.. firewall ,passenger side the BOLT spins freely and glow plug is stuck.. so obviously the hole is sucking air into that cylinder.. will try your method.. tried next one to it, wouldnt even turn..so waiting on penetrating oil to do something.. Oddly enough the test light flashes when i touch half way down the exterior tip..
