I just came across this as I was drinking my morning coffee, and immediately found my heat gun and went to work. Took me like 15-20 minutes to get the old ones off and another 10 minutes with WD-40 and a microfiber cloth to clean it up. I'm sure the Goof Off would probably be a little faster, but the WD-40 worked well and with a clean microfiber doesn't hurt the paint/clearcoat. My 2010 SLT is Beige/Gold with 96K on it, and I really like the way it looks now. The vinyl was kind of messed up when I bought it 3 years ago, especially the driver door, and the dealer wanted to charge me like $100 per pillar if I wanted them redone. When I saw this vid that showed the paint and clearcoat was under the vinyl, good bye! Good job man, now I have to watch the rest of your Ram videos! I plan on driving this truck into the ground. In 2016, I sold a 96 Tacoma to buy this one, so I'll let you know in 2030 what my next truck is!

Just wanna say, I did this today. Easy removal. A bit of elbow grease with Goo Gone to remove the glue. But it’s beautiful now. I was back and forth about if it would look better but keep in mind the folded vinyl/cracking vinyl is gotta get removed even if I did a replacement vinyl. Removed looks great! This is the 2nd video of yours I’ve followed (first was the over head flickering light replace) and I’m so happy with both. Thanks again! Hi, I removed the b pillar vinyl from my Ram 3500 dually. Much better looking. Only thing to add is removing the adhesive. Mine was really thick. I used high strength goof off. No scrapping, just a lot of rubbing. Keep changing the sacrificial towel and keep it relatively wet. Thoroughly clean afterwards with alcohol and wax. You're done. Thanks, Benton

Thank for the tip. Used a heat gun in addition to the 103 degree hear here in Texas. They came off like butter. Used alcohol on the small glue spot. Blends in perfect because my truck is dark grey.

Thanks for posting this! I've been wanting to take these darn decals off for at least the last year - mine looked horrible just like yours did - even the wrinkles were the same! A heat gun, some patience (the trick is to pull the decals off SLOWLY and then almost no adhesive will be left to remove) and some GOOF OFF on a micro fiber towel to remove the remainder of the residue. I'm not sure if I like the way it looks like this but it does look way better than it did with the deteriorating decals on there. Thanks again ! My truck is brand new and bird poop appears to have etched a stain in this part of my car. Can't get it off to save my life. This video is awesome as there is nothing else that explains this if you want to remove it completely and replace it. I may do that!

Did this on my 09, 11, and just picked up my 16 and I will be taking it off this weekend before I put on the rain guards!

I completely de badged my 3500, got the front windows tinted...looks fabulous....now, the vinyl....is was looking to replace it..........the removal of it looks way better, and mine is messy.....thanks....

I have a Charcoal Metallic Ram and the pillars are the same color of the entire truck. I personally like it very much. To remove the glue, you can use GOOF OFF, it will not screw up your paint and take the glue rig off the surface.

Watched this last night at work and removed mine today after waking up, much better look. I had notice how the edges in some areas was cracking and peeling up and had contemplated getting the stainless covers but ultimately I'm glad I went this route. Great video keep them coming.

Finally, ram mods videos that are professionally done. I also appreciate keeping cost in mind. I'm retired and love my 2015 ram, so I'm always looking for things to trick out my truck. I also have an eleven year old great nephew who is my partner in crime who loves to "soup up", Sam the Ram. Keep up the good work!

Mine went the exact same way yours did. Mines the deep cherry and was considering doing just as you did but was concerned the finish might not have been gloss underneath. Thank you for answering that question and I like it, especially on the silver. If you ever do apply any replacement please post so we can see the difficulty in doing that. Saw this video and had to try it. The vinyl on mine was peeling as well. They came off pretty easily. I learned quickly that the more heat you apply, the less glue residue will be left on the pillars. Great tip on pulling that screw out, I would've missed that. I think my truck looks better without it. Thanks for the video!

So glad I found this video lol. Previous owner of my 2016 Rebel got F'n white paint fingerprints all over everything, and the only exterior part of the truck with the prints is this vinyl. Definitely removing mine as soon as I get home today, truck is black anyway so not worried about looks

John, my 2015 Tradesman didn't have it, but my 2017 Laramie does. Both trucks are Maximum Steel Metallic so, it isn't really noticeable. For now, I'll leave it on the 2017. But Thank You for posting this because now I know how to remove it if I decide to later.

Nice video. My 2013 Chevy Sonic has B Pillars with that same vinyl covering from the factory and it's got that wrinkle thing going on with it like your truck had. Luckily my car is already a dark gunmetal color so it could only look better by removing the factory vinyl. Also, I've learned from using a heat gun on other things that if you wear a cloth style glove on the hand that is exposed to the heat it helps keep your hand from getting burned if you're working on a specific spot for a long time.

I have the same truck, same vinyl that has the same wrinkle and was wondering what to do. I think this looks great, not to mention with the texture on the vinyl when it gets dirty or wax on it it's a pain in the ass to remove. Keep these video coming.

This definitely looks great! But I'm so indecisive cause I think the black looks good too. I suppose the good thing is that you can reapply the vinyl if you decide you'd rather have it back. I may do this. I'm also going to add the vinyl graphic to the hood and the tailgate because I like the sporty look and I think it looks good on the sport hood.

I actually think it looks better without the vynil. It's a headache trying keep vynil wrapped around these edges and creases. Good job!

I have also silver ram, mine has more chrome and I don't like much the black line the window seal line across the frame that you have now so maybe I will look for window seal chrome cover before removing my vinyl. Looks great without the wrap on your silver ram! I had the same thing happen on my dark blue 13 ram and removed it but ended up not looking good with no wrap so went back and plasti dipped it!

I'm just doing this on my dark grey 2009 and it's really stuck on there. The longer it's on there the more stuck. Got one side done. Lots of heat gun, plastic scraper, goo gone and microfiber cloth. Thanks for your video.

Its suprising that nissan is very similar in exterior trim anchors and the vynle bullshit . I bought carbon caps they fit quite nicely and look legit as far a carbon

I was literally thinking about taking that off myself today on my 2018 brand new Ram 1500, mine is a Delmonico Red pearl color so it looks even nicer. But I will replace it with a glossy one instead fully getting rid of it.

I was trying to take the weather strips off my Chevy Malibu 08 LS before I paint it but the closest video I saw to take the weather strips off was from a Malibu 2015 I got one off completely and the metal trim with it buy was gonna take all of them off because I took all my doors off before I paint it and the inside panels. What I should of did before taking the electrical system off my doors and taking the door out I should of rolled the windows down I have a cover over the vehicle now in backyard though. I took off the front grille, rear bumper, outside sideview mirrors, door knobs inside panels, doors, hood and trunk. I did all that a month ago just waiting for my parents to get the garage sale done before I bring it in garage and paint it. I would want to get a paint booth in future and a bigger air compressor but was in the process of looking to move rather in a house though. But when I do move I wanna be doing what God wants me to do for a job. Am in 40's and I don't want to keep working for someone else I wanna do what God wants me to do. I still like auto painting and detailing started liking both more in the last 2 years even though I never got a real good paint job yet actually got too much orange peel I see me doing better now. Plus I looked at a lot of RU-vid videos on auto painting and detailing videos too. Plus I have a lot of products now to use but I still wanna work for myself. I have had a lot of jobs in my life but the way I think now I should of thought like this when was in 20's. But I wasn't into painting then was more into videogames which now that ain't into nomore.

I'm taking the rest of mine off as soon as we get a warm day. I took it off the drivers door without a heat gun, and it was extremely difficult to remove. Came off in little pieces. Used Goof off to get all the glue off. Now I have a heat gun. The rest hopefully will be a lot easier. Looks much better without!
