Great video. I just did a transmission steel pan replacement without taking the cross bar off, you need to shimmy the steel in and then gently slide the gasket over the top. However you do need 90 degree bent torx tools. Found that the old plastic filter magnets had a lot of fine metal.
I understand you did a video on how to change the timing belt on tdv6 LR3. And you made some special tools to do the job. Do you still have the video on RU-vid? I like to watch it again and possibly order the tools. Please assist.
When exactly should I support the gearbox? First support gearbox then unbolt and remove the cross bar and then lift a bit? How much? So basicaly 4 questions :P Thanks for support :) EDIT: Are you sure there is no way to remove plastic pan with build up filter without rising? Maybe cutting it gently with dremel? :DD
Best to have a fortron machine auto gearbox oil change instead as it removes 99% of the oil compared to around 60% by doing it manually. Approx capacity of gearbox is 11 litres if going the fortron machine method. My r.rover sport 3.0 tdv6 ran far better after.
