To The Top Crane
In this video, I use our Tadano 180g-5 to remove some vertical tanks. The tanks ranged in weight from 9,000 lbs to 19,000 lbs. The crane was configured with 110,000 pounds of counterweight, both winches, full span outriggers and 129 feet of main boom.

All kinds of warning buzzers going off on that one! lol Great lift. Everyone.... and the crane... goes home intact! :)

The goal on every job....Do no harm. The buzzers probably sounded worse than it was. I still had a little capacity left. Many thanks for watching! 🏗

Hey Jimmy, Wanted to say thank you for your videos. You’ve inspired me to seek out a rental company. I found one I like and got hired on as a CDL/ Oiler. I’m currently in crane school with 3 weeks left to go. Your videos helped me to understand basic concepts and secure a good job for my new career. Looking forward to viewing more from your channel. God bless you

With all those warning sounds going off, I was waiting for some doctors and nurses to come running in. 😆 Welcome back, glad to see a new video 😊

Normally Murphy would have made sure the 5k extra material was in the far tank. He must have decided to give you a break today. Great video as always.

I'm sure glad it wasn't in that far tank. That one was a little sketchy anyway. Many thanks for watching! 🏗

@@ToTheTopCrane It was certainly lucky it was not any heavier. I am assuming this was already the closest you could setup the crane to the tank without driving down into the pit and since you guys do not have a bigger crane that means any Plan B results in an awful lot of work.
@ToTheTopCrane
@ToTheTopCrane 2 года назад
You are correct. I was as close as I could get.They also wouldn't let me drive down into the pit. It has a liner under all of the substrate. Plan B involved a torch and quite a bit of time.

the first one was as risky as the last one, both close call for sure. And it looks like no one on the ground was an operator/rigger to realise what was going on in cab.
@ToTheTopCrane
@ToTheTopCrane 2 года назад
Crane work is inherently risky. Three of the guys on ground were riggers. They work with me. They are the ones that probably weren't in too much of the video because they were paying attention to what all was going on. Many thanks for watching! 🏗

It sucks when when you're in a situation where the LAST thing you want to see is "boom down, cable up" and you can't.

I had to flip 60,000 lb nuke fuel vessels on trailer on pins. 200 ton friction crane. Semi trailer starter moving backwards since drum brakes dont hold in reverse. Almost lost load. Gov didnt listen to chock wheels. Often those tanks anchor bolts rusted stuck. I would hit tank with block to jarr loose if being scrapped Main warning buzzer in 1989 Link belt is you butt in seat.. PS u ever have a sling snap with boom deflected that far?. Can ruin rig rotek shatters.

Hey Jimmy, I just subscribed to your channel. I enjoy the videos. I'm curious, how far from your home base do you typically work? What's the farthest that you've had to drive the crane for a job? Thanks for the videos!
